I have a corded car detailing tool, but this cordless one looked like it would help solve the draping cord over my nicely cleaned car problem. This unit is heavy, but I'll assume once the battery is mounted, that'll help balance it and not keep with the head heavy feeling. Now, a heavy head is a good thing with a buffing unit as you can let the tool's weight do the work rather than you needing to. The head has a nice rounded touch surface hand hold on the front, so this should help with use forward and back. Side to side will be determined as we go. This listing is for the TOOL ONLY. There is no battery included. Take note...Yeah, it says it very clearly in the listing details, but some folks aren't so good with reading ;p The listing also says '24v' on the box, but the box I received, and all of the details in the listing indicate its a 20v unit and requires a ‘name brand’ 20v battery (Amazon seems to have an issue with mentioning any brand names in reviews, even though it’s very clearly called out in the listing). There are a number of models of these ‘name brand’ 20v batteries that it supports, so if you've gone one, it probably will work. All I have available just now is 12v, so I have to wait a bit before I can give this unit a thorough live test. It comes with a soft-side carrying bag (nice) which holds the tool and accessories. They are all packed in the bag inside the box you receive, so you can see how everything fits from the start. All of the accessories you'll need for polishing/buffing are included. Soft microfiber bonnets, polishing compound application pads, a wool polishing pad and a large rough and smooth sided microfiber towel for drying. There are also a few sanding pads, so I'm going to assume these would be for if you're doing something much more significant than just polishing/buffing your car. Sanding pads are for removing rough areas, but hey, they're included in the kit too. Oh, and there's a cute little lightweight apron included. I guess so you can keep your clothes dry. I've never seen an apron included with a car washing tool before, so that was different. There are threaded holes for a handle, it appears, in the head of the tool, but no handle is included, and I see no mention of them in the instructions. There are a couple of flat head screws in the kit, so I'm guessing those could just be put into those holes...at least that's the best I can figure. It also includes a wrench for removing the tool head, but I didn't see that discussed in the instructions either, and the tool's velcro surface (so no need to change out the head to use this tool) should hold up pretty well. As such, no expectation to require the removal of the head any time soon, but you have the wrench if you need. Overall, it looks sturdy and powerful, which I'll confirm once I have the right 20v battery I need, mea culpa, and with all of the accessories necessary for buffing and polishing (and sanding?) as well as a soft-side carrying bag, I think I'm all set.

It works... It's a bit noisy also this is NOT Brushless, if I would of known this I wouldn't have got it. The DeWalt batteries work well in it.

This buffer/polisher works way better than I expected it to. It runs smoothly and maintains a consistent speed. It is very easy to use with its hook and loop pad. The build quality is excellent and it has threaded attachment points should you choose to attach your grinder handle, but I find that the forward grip and the pistol grip are very comfortable and feel natural while using it. It has plenty of power. Tools like this consume a fair amount of power because you’re typically running them for a fairly long time, so I would recommend that you use the larger batteries such as a 5 Ah vmax battery, but it will work fine with any size 20V DeWalt battery. My DeWalt batteries fit and lock in perfectly and there is no annoying adapter to deal with. There are lots of uses for this buffer besides polishing cars, which is something I don’t care to do. I build heirloom furniture in my woodworking shop and am very particular about what my tools come in contact with to avoid contamination and to protect them, because they are all very expensive precision tools. Many years ago, I found a lot of old hand woodworking planes that had been my grandfather’s and great grandfather’s, but were in terrible shape due to having been misused, abused, and stored improperly for decades, long after the people who lovingly used them were gone. I wanted to restore them, but didn’t want to use my Festool vacuum sander with anything metal or oily, because it can be impossible to clean it out completely and oil can wreck the finishing process on extremely valuable furniture pieces. So they sat in a bin in a cabinet. For years. Then this polisher / buffer arrived. I had watched a YouTube video of someone polishing cast iron tools, and saw that plastic wool sanding pads will attach well enough to hook and loop sanders to use them for the initial rust removal, along with some lubricant, typically WD-40 or other oil. I pulled out a stack of them and attached one to this buffer, and cut out a circular pad about a quarter inch wider than the tool pad. Long story, but I advanced through grit equivalent levels, eventually switching to sandpaper, and I was totally amazed by how great this buffer works. It is just heavy enough that allowing it to work under its own weight is perfect, which avoids damaging a surface. The random orbit feature left no swirl marks and the vibration of the tool did not bother my hands or shoulder, which is a problem for me with some tools of this type. The machine is well balanced, and vibration is minimal. I spent only about 30 minutes or so on one side of the hand plane pictured, and was truly astounded by how well the tool works and how quickly I was able to accomplish what would have taken hours by hand. I now have the tool that I need to save the old tools of my ancestors and can finally fully restore them and put them back into service. I’m pretty sentimental, so this is important to me, and I will now be able to pass them on to my son and grandson. This tool has earned a permanent place in my tool arsenal.

The media could not be loaded. I was really excited to try out this new tool, unfortunately, the Litekon Cordless Buffer Polisher did not work. As you can see in the video, I had a fully charged Dewalt 20V battery, and when I put it on the buffer it would not turn on and the handle got hot really fast.
