I was running low on my Lola super+ tampons (that only come in plastic applicators - my other sizes I have cardboard applicators) and was looking for an alternative to reduce my plastic usage. I've never used non-applicator tampons, so I wasn't very good at them during my first period with them. I couldn't get them in far enough to be comfortable. I really wanted to keep my commitment to reducing waste, so I didn't completely give up on them. My second period, I think I figured it out: you need to be really quick between removing the front part of the wrapper and inserting. I think they start to expand a little once unwrapped, so if you don't do it fast enough, it's just harder maybe? Anyway, I feel like a pro now and the product meets my expectations.

These are good. They leak a little. My OB brand tampons don’t leak, but then they’re not organic. However I have heard even organic cotton can contain heavy metals. Watch out! Anyways, these are my tampons of choice now.

I have been on the hunt for a product to make my period less miserable. I tried multiple cups, but ultimately suffer from some irritation that I can't seem to figure out. I knew that the chemicals in regular tampons were also causing irritation and cramps. I didn't expect switching to organic cotton tampons to help much, but I figured at least getting rid of the chemicals was a good thing. In my search for a better product, I couldn't find an Ultra absorbent tampon, so I was hesitant to go without my usual absorbency level. I am literally shocked to say, I don't need an ultra absorbent tampon anymore. I used to have to change every 2-3 hours with a conventional ultra tampon, but I can go 4-5 with just a super plus Cora. I also always got a cramp when inserting a tampon, but that has not happened once since I switched. I really like the easy open tab on the tampon because other brands of non-applicator tampons can be a real pain to find the opening. My other brand of non-applicator tampons had a clear wrapper which always looked tacky to me. Overall, Cora has really nice packaging. I like how easy it is to close the box. The packaging is literally so discreet that no one will know what it is without really looking. I was extremely skeptical that switching products could make my periods lighter and less painful, but it definitely helped me. I haven't experienced any irritation since switching which is a major improvement for me. I won't be going back to conventional tampons.

Previously I was using the L Brand tampons, but I switched to Cora! I'm not going to lie, I'm a sucka for social good and when I can purchase anything that contributes to the greater good of humanity I will. I also tend to purchase things based on how aesthetically pleasing they are to my eyes - case in point the reason I purchased my first Cora tampons. I'm being as objective as I can when I say I cancelled my direct subscription to the brand, because I felt $27 was too much for 54 tampons, when lesser brand names would give you that for 10 bucks. Then Amazon sucked me in with 72 super plus tampons for $22 bucks. I have Uterine Fibroids and these tampons really help me during those heavy times when I'm bleeding so heavy it leaks to the floor and toilet. Sorry if that's TMI, but women with fibroids go through a lot during their cycle. Now that I'm back on the Cora train, I plan to continue to use these things until I don't have periods anymore. I also like that cute little necklace you can put around your neck to put the tampon inside so you're not carrying it in your hand all the time. I gotta purchase one of those soon. Hope this helps!

I should have read better, but had no idea these didn’t come with an applicator. The box looks like the regular box but what arrived does not look like this. It’s 2 tiny boxes
