I bought this mattress for my 6-foot 4, 13-year-old son (yes, you read that right — he’s basically a walking dinosaur). He’s absolutely smitten with it, claiming it keeps him cooler at night than a polar bear in a snowstorm. But let me just say this: heed my warning! Opening this mattress is like unboxing a surprise party gone wrong. Forget the gentle “memory foam” experience; this mattress sprang to life like a caffeinated jack-in-the-box and took me out! I now have three massive bruises to prove it. I felt like I was in an action movie, flailing around, desperately searching for something—anything—to grab onto for dear life. I went down faster than a toddler on a sugar rush, right between my son’s nightstand and bedframe. Guess where I landed? On top of his laptop! (Don’t worry, it survived my epic battle.) And to make matters worse, my husband walked in just in time to witness my epic struggle against a rogue mattress. It was like a scene from a comedy, with me fighting for my life against a bed! So, if you decide to take the plunge, just remember: this mattress is not for the faint of heart!

Update 2/11/25 The seller completely refunded my order! I have never dealt with anybody who would ever do that! Extremely excellent customer service obviously, I would definitely recommend for the customer service!! Wow… I was beyond ecstatic to order this. The majority of the reviews were really good. I even paid attention to some of the people that had said that the mattress didn’t inflate all the way until quite a few days, I waited over a week with this thing setting out, and I noticed immediately when I took it out of the box that there was a giant crease, smack down the middle. According to some of the reviews, it would go away. I received this item on 17 January. It is now 5 February. And the giant crease is still down the middle of the mattress. It has not puffed up all the way at the end the corners cave over. And as you can see in one of the photos, the back of the mattress is just completely crumpled! It’s like it wasn’t even made properly. It has laid out flat and in some of the photos you can still see where the other side of the mattress is dented down… Part of the mattress did inflate to 12 inches. The other part is maybe 10. You can just roll right off the thing because it’s so incredibly uneven. i’m now out over $500… On a mattress that split down the middle, crumpled, and hasn’t fully blown up. There’s no way in the world I’m going to be able to return this… I mean how? I can’t roll it back up into the cardboard box because that was barely placed together as it was when it was delivered. There was so much duct tape around it. I’m not sure if it was because of the size of the mattress being a California king, but I am just beyond devastated that I am going to be out this much money for a busted up mattress. I have daily chronic massive neck, pain and back pain due to injuries and deformities, and I was so excited and now once again, I’m up a creek without a paddle.

I really liked this new, but it is starting to sag significantly. I am 190 lb, and my wife 130lb. It's less than a year old and has enough sag now that I am experiencing back pain. I can't recommend this product. That said, the customer support was excellent. They processed a return promptly with no complaints. So... I revised this review from one star to four because it's likely worth trying it out to see if the product works well for your body and your environment.

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and comfort of this bed in a box mattress. It was slept on the very first night and seemed fully inflated by the second night. It opened out of the packing easily and we detected a little odor but not for long and not offensive. The person who used it has back issues but said he slept very comfortably waking with less pain than he used to get upon waking. I would recommend the Firm for people with achy backs.
