Bought a lower end mattress awhile back and it was a bit too firm. We put a thin pad on covered with A waterproof mattress cover. It was better but we were still waking up stiff. When this one went on sale, I grabbed it and crossed my fingers, eyes and toes. Well, best investment we have made this year. Thick, soft and made our bed super cozy. Should have just purchased this to start with.

This mattress pad from Sonive has transformed my tired old pillow top mattress into something else. I'm not quite sure what, but it doesn't seem as tired and old lol. It's definitely thicker than I anticipated, but judging by the weight of it when it was delivered I'm not sure why I was surprised. Once I released it from its vacuum packed bag, it grew and expanded right before my eyes. I thought to myself "Is this thing going to fit in my washer...?" Well, it did, barely. Got it washed and dried, and set to putting it on my mattress. My mattress isn't too thick by todays standards, it's about 11" and the mattress pad fit very well. My biggest frustration with other mattress pads I have had is that the pockets are not deep enough and it will eventually start shifting around. Not the case with the Sonive. The pockets are very deep, and as long as you get them pushed as far under your mattress, you won't experience any shifting. The fit from side to side and head to foot is also great, it covers my mattress perfectly, with no overhang. I can't say I have noticed any difference in the density of the "zones" of this topper. It all feels basically the same to me. As far as this being a "cooling" mattress pad, well I'm not sure what about it is supposed to offer any sort of cooling. If anything I think it makes my sleep a bit warmer, which works out for me because my bedroom is on the cooler side in the winter. I don't know how it will work out once the weather changes, it may end up being too warm. I will update if I notice any "cooling" effect in the future. Overall, this is a good value in my opinion, and the best mattress pad I have owned so far. 4⭐️
