  • Much quieter than a stock AMD cooler but it took some work to install it.
Style: 212 Black
I like this product. Here's my day 1 experience... First you need to be ok with potentially removing the mother board, clearing thermal paste and reapplying thermal paste. If that is too much for you then find another solution! My stock AMD fan was driving me CRAZY! It was so loud that I didn't want to use the system for more time than necessary. I was not sure which fan was making all the noise but with a tooth pick narrowed it to the CPU fan. At that point I looked for a solution and here's my experience: Good: + Price to me was fair and Amazon arrived the same day! + Very Quiet (compared to my stock fan) + Keeping my cpu between 38 - 60C + Comes with thermal paste! + fits Intel/AMD (mine is AMD) + able to add a second fan but not included + directions with basic steps Not as good: - Installation took me about 90 minutes (I don't do this daily... so I am a bit slow) - If you're reapplying thermal paste you need 99% alcohol to clean the old paste (not included) - Installation required removing my system board- not a huge deal but takes time (case didn't allow access to under the system board) So this could be because I have an older case. Be ready. - If you have a small case it may not fit... check the case size, it's tall. Mine is full size Lian-Li and fit nicely. - second fan not included but can be added. - second fan may be tight against the memory on your system board. - split cable to power the first fan and add a second fan made my cpu fan speed unreadable. I added it so that the cable would be there for a future second fan. All in all, I like this solution. It's very quiet, inexpensive and working nicely. Happy Computing! ... show more

  • Amazing and Quiet
Style: Hyper 212 Halo White
Keeps my CPU nice and cool. My pc runs quieter even though I’ve switched to this from an AIO. I’ve only heard good things about the hyper 212’s and especially with this new easy to install version with less branding on it. Had 0 troubles with it. Very straight forward. Definitely a re-purchase if ever needed. ... show more

  • Great Air Cooler
Style: 212 Black
Super easy to install. Came with directions for both Intel and AMD motherboards. Additionally, it came with thermal paste so that was a plus. Great for a budget bill. The all-black finish looks great. Would buy it again.

  • Awesome cooler for the price
Style: 212 Halo Black
I have used this cooler in 10 different builds as it fits everything I build in . It looks nice and keeps the cpu cool. The mounting system on am4 is very clear and easy to install. The fan is quite and I have not had any issues with existing systems they have run this cooler for a year or more

  • surprisingly efficient inexpensive air cooler
Style: 212 Black
Using it in an 8 core AMD FX-8300 cpu, temp is usually < 30 C. reasonably quiet. The 4 heat pipes do a pretty good job dissipating the cpu heat. The Silencio fan that comes with it is a bit fat, there was not enough room between the cooler and the memory chips to install it there. had to put it on the other side. The fan is a high static pressure fan but not super quiet. (It is _not_ a Noctua). I will probably end up replacing the fan with a Noctua. The fan mounting hardware was a pain to deal with, esp. trying to put one side on blind, while the cooler was mounted on the cpu already. You (depending on how you mount it) you may not be able to put the fan on this on before mounting the heatsink. The mounting hardware it comes with for AMD socket F3+ is so-so. Could be made to work, with a bit of persuasion/forcing ( the mounting screw holes are a bit out of position) . When I plugged the Silencio fan's 4 pin connector into the CPU fan connector, the fan would only spin at 300-400 rpm, and I would get very poor CPU cooling. I had to plug it into a sys1 fan connector to spin up enough to actually cool the cpu. OTOH, the sys1 header would cause the case fan to spin at 2000 rpm, really loud. I tried a different ( low static pressure ) case exhaust fan and that one was not too noisy in the sys1 connector. The problematic case fan was another high static pressure fan, a thermaltake, that came off of a water cooler's radiator. But the Silencio (which was meant to be a CPU fan) not spinning fast enough when plugged into a CPU socket is inexcusable. All the cpu fan connectors on the motherboard ( and the fan's connectors) are 4 pin. This was on an MSI motherboard. Luckly, the 2000 rpm was about right for the Silencio on the cpu. It still runs reasonably quiet, and cools the cpu well. I ended up plugging the case exhaust fan into the CPU fan socket, and the cpu fan (the Silencio) into the Sys1 header. Kind of hackish, but in the end I got reasonable cooling and reasonable noise level. A less adventurous user OTOH may end up with a really loud, or insufficiently cooled system. ... show more

  • Not a bad cooler for the price!
Style: 212 Black
Yes there are better coolers, no this isn't as good as a AIO water system, but rest assured this is a VERY CAPABLE and FUNCTIONAL cooler, and a hard one to beat with anything else in this price range. There's no dual fans, no LEDs, RCB or addressable, it's not flashy, but it certainly gets the job done. I installed this on a Asus TUF Gaming X570 board to cool a Ryzen 9 3900X. It cools better than the Wraith Prism cooler that was included with the CPU, and is SO MUCH quieter doing it. When I build a PC, I build for function and longevity in a stable system more so than for looks. This cooler keeps my stock-clocked 3900X at about 70ºC under 100% load stress testing it for over and hour with Aida64. Under normal workloads gaming or encoding/rendering video, the CPU stays nice and cool and the fan never ramps up enough to hear it, using the stock fan profiles in Asus AI Suite 3. I even raised the CPU fan speeds a bit with a custom profile and still never hear it, and dropped a few more degrees off the CPU temps. I do have it in a case with good airflow which helps with an air cooled system, so you mileage may vary. I'm using a Phanteks Eclipse P400A Digital with only it's stock 3 fans in the front, no additional fans added anywhere. Installation was fairly simple following the instructions carefully, and using the included thermal paste. I've used the classic Hyper 212 Evo on a few AMD systems in the past, and had high expectations for this one going in, thankfully I wasn't let down. ... show more
