Yes there are better coolers, no this isn't as good as a AIO water system, but rest assured this is a VERY CAPABLE and FUNCTIONAL cooler, and a hard one to beat with anything else in this price range. There's no dual fans, no LEDs, RCB or addressable, it's not flashy, but it certainly gets the job done. I installed this on a Asus TUF Gaming X570 board to cool a Ryzen 9 3900X. It cools better than the Wraith Prism cooler that was included with the CPU, and is SO MUCH quieter doing it. When I build a PC, I build for function and longevity in a stable system more so than for looks. This cooler keeps my stock-clocked 3900X at about 70ºC under 100% load stress testing it for over and hour with Aida64. Under normal workloads gaming or encoding/rendering video, the CPU stays nice and cool and the fan never ramps up enough to hear it, using the stock fan profiles in Asus AI Suite 3. I even raised the CPU fan speeds a bit with a custom profile and still never hear it, and dropped a few more degrees off the CPU temps. I do have it in a case with good airflow which helps with an air cooled system, so you mileage may vary. I'm using a Phanteks Eclipse P400A Digital with only it's stock 3 fans in the front, no additional fans added anywhere. Installation was fairly simple following the instructions carefully, and using the included thermal paste. I've used the classic Hyper 212 Evo on a few AMD systems in the past, and had high expectations for this one going in, thankfully I wasn't let down. ... show more

I was running a Ryzen 5600x on B550 motherboard and the stock wraith stealth prism for cooling. My computer case has excellent airflow and was still pulling mid 70c under gaming loads of 30-60% sustained. If you’re like me and upgrading to anything else from the wraith stealth prism you will immediately notice just how much bigger it is. The cooler master 212 is no exception it is monstrous compared to the wraith cooler. The copper heat pipes have been exposed on the cold plate and directly touches the cpu when mounted making it very efficient at rerouting the heat. The fan works as intended and mounting it was very easy. Granted I used Arctic Mx 4 for thermal paste instead of the one provided, but I am now barely reaching 45-55 C under gaming loads and I haven’t even overclocked and enabled PBO yet. My results are very very satisfactory and I recommend anyone with a wraith stealth cooler to switch ASAP ... show more

This cooler is doing a great job on my oc i7 noise levels are low and on fullload it’s still quiet enough to enjoy playing .. looks great too very close to ram but overall turnout great this is on a nr200 case

I like this product. Here's my day 1 experience... First you need to be ok with potentially removing the mother board, clearing thermal paste and reapplying thermal paste. If that is too much for you then find another solution! My stock AMD fan was driving me CRAZY! It was so loud that I didn't want to use the system for more time than necessary. I was not sure which fan was making all the noise but with a tooth pick narrowed it to the CPU fan. At that point I looked for a solution and here's my experience: Good: + Price to me was fair and Amazon arrived the same day! + Very Quiet (compared to my stock fan) + Keeping my cpu between 38 - 60C + Comes with thermal paste! + fits Intel/AMD (mine is AMD) + able to add a second fan but not included + directions with basic steps Not as good: - Installation took me about 90 minutes (I don't do this daily... so I am a bit slow) - If you're reapplying thermal paste you need 99% alcohol to clean the old paste (not included) - Installation required removing my system board- not a huge deal but takes time (case didn't allow access to under the system board) So this could be because I have an older case. Be ready. - If you have a small case it may not fit... check the case size, it's tall. Mine is full size Lian-Li and fit nicely. - second fan not included but can be added. - second fan may be tight against the memory on your system board. - split cable to power the first fan and add a second fan made my cpu fan speed unreadable. I added it so that the cable would be there for a future second fan. All in all, I like this solution. It's very quiet, inexpensive and working nicely. Happy Computing! ... show more

If you’re someone worried about budget and aesthetic, this is the way to go. I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and I’ve come across zero issues. It was a bit of a learning curve to install. Geez. But I got it figured out. Once I did that the install was a piece of cake. The fan runs well, is big and I mean big and it keeps the cpu cool too. It is in the mid 80's right now as it idles. MOre later...

Came with a tube of thermal paste and was overall super easy to install. Went from a stock cooler on a R5 3600 that ran around 60 idle all the way down to 40-45 idle from this upgrade. Looks really nice and feels premium as well.

It’s been nearly silent. A blessing to my ears. Took a computer running 115 down to 40s, 50s top. The cost is so cheap and it’s very effective! Big bonus for the thermal paste that comes with it being the perfect amount. It was a little confusing on how to clip the fan on, but once we figured it out they clipped on very well. Doesn’t even wiggle! Also very appreciative of the second set of clips to have another fan for it. iBuyPower brand computer it was installed in.
