Firstly, I will be making updates each week for a month then secondly, 1-3 more reviews monthly after that then thirdly, a final year review. 08/11/21 (First Weekly Review): This bag surpassed my expectations by a long shot! The feeling of the bag and the slick look of it makes me really really happy. I felt like a kid on Christmas morning opening this package! So far so good, the bag has a decent amount of storage. However, if you are looking/wanting to put more than 1-2 binders in it I recommend 1-2 maybe 3 inch ringed binder (anything bigger will just make the bag lose capacity in its many storage compartments. Other than that it for my Yoga Lenovo laptop in it not problems (much more room that I expected!) So far the backpack sleeves feel great and are durable same with the handles for briefcase use (haven’t yet test the shoulder strap yet.) All around first impression is .... THIS BAG IS A MUST GET!!! 08/18/21 (Second Weekly Review): The bag has held up so far and it’s been nothing but great and actually holds a lot of storage for my thick binders and thick folders and notebooks. I can hold a notebook in the front pocket that is 7“ x 11“ give or take. The bag also is great at being a shoulder carrying case or a briefcase, all three options of using the bag are great. It makes it easy to pull around your things! Still a STRONG BUY!!! 8/25/21 (Third Weekly Review): The bag is doing very well and is actually proving it’s worth a lot more than I thought it would. The only problem I can tell is with the zipper leather puller part on the outside main pocket (not the one directly behind if wearing as a backpack) broke due to two factors. One factor being myself pulling hard due to my thickness of my folders and paper on the bag and the angles I’m pulling the bag open at, and the second factor is under-ideal stitching/ leather manufacturing or maintenance at factory. However this is the only one that broke and so far no other one has shown signs of doing the same in any shape or form!!! Still a STRONG BUY!!! First Monthly Review (2 Months Old): For the second month of owning this bag I’ve realized and understood this is probably the best bag in its category and probably in every other category out there! The way that the bag fits on my back makes the bag comfortable efficient and ideal, also as a briefcase with low weight loads it is a breeze and a plus factor of fashion to have at your side. This bag overall out of 10 would probably be 11 but considering all things aside I’m going to give it a 10 out of 10! Still no other zipper leather pulling parts have shown signs of tearing or wear, still just the back main pocket compartment has pulled off and broke; to which I have been able to fix upwards to 3 to 5 times, by stapling and or using leather glue. I recommend you to be cautious of how much stress you put on the zippers themselves and just don’t pull it on old angles. Still a STRONG BUY!!! Second Monthly Review (3 Months Old): This bag still has hidden features I’m just now finding out about like, inside the main compartment the two pockets can fit a 4 x 7“ writers notebook and also a TI-84 CE plus calculator and they are perfect fits to, also with the space that the zipper doesn’t close in the main compartment due to the briefcase clip blocking it you can route a charger through that and mount it down the backpack straps to charge your phone, also you can enjoy the front outside pockets spill resistant lining (it’s like a tarp but not if that makes sense) the pocket can stop something from leaking inside to outside the bag or from outside to in the bag (no in the bag to main compartment however, there isn’t any lining on the back of the pocket inside.) this bag has been nothing but greatness, I expect nothing but furthermore greatness to come! Still a STRONG BUY!!! Third Monthly Review (4 Months Old): This bag has held up to the abuse and the everyday use, this bag can and will not only make you stylish but also gives you many great options for anything from school and work or just to carry random items. However, if you have a lot of items you better be a great packer to fit large amounts of items in the back, as room can and will run out... quicker than you might think. However, this doesn’t mean that the bags space is lint great (as it’s pretty good) it’s just bigger items call for less room and smaller items tend to be for this bag. I LOVE this bag. I am the hiring manager for a large university dining services department and needed to replace my messenger bag. I saw the outstanding reviews and decided to give it a try. It is very spacious and I love all the pockets (despite the comments that I look like an EMT). I thought I'd use the messenger bag strap, but I fell in love with the backpack set up. I love the 2 large zipper sections. It is very comfortable and holds my folders and computer quite easily. The canvas material is the perfect balance of useful and stylish. Overall, the PERFECT bag.

I have been using this bag heavily for four years now, and it is just as beautiful and functional as the day it came in the mail. I just feel like it’s so hard to find products with that kind of value anymore, let alone at this price point. I was looking for a bag that could go with me to work, look professional, but fit all of my materials for college, fit my 17” laptop safely, and have enough pockets and storage to double as a weekend bag for pet sitting, one of my favorite and most frequent side hustles. I also wanted something that could be used as a carry on or personal item on flights. My old ll bean backpack served me well for many years, but it doesn’t have enough protection for my laptop and doesn’t have enough structure to always fit in the little “is your carry on too big” installation at the boarding gate. This bag is probably the most versatile piece of luggage I have ever owned. It’s sophisticated enough to act as a briefcase for a job interview, has space and compartments to act as a commuter backpack for school, as a laptop case for work or an overnight bag for a weekend out. The styling of it is so well dialed in that I can carry it with any jacket and any shoes and feel confident that it matches well enough that I always look put together, dressed up or dressed down. (Tip: Peacoat + messenger bag combo with a brown leather oxford or loafer is ALWAYS a high return on low effort look, thanks to the leather accents trims pulls and handles on this bag.) My favorite things about it are as follows: It has a plethora of pockets. The cables straps and buckles are strong. The finish on the metal hardware hasn’t chipped or rusted even after four years of near-daily use. And I am not talking about light use, I mean on the daily I have the aforementioned 17” laptop, an iPad Pro gen 2, the 12” ones, the biggest one they make, (mine has a whole hard folding case with a full size keyboard) plus at least two books at any given time as well as my planner, an external hard drive, external portable battery, a set of over-ear headphones in its hard shell case, associated chargers and adapters for all the above, a textbook and a 2” 3 ring binder, as well as my sunglasses, gum, feminine hygiene products, miscellaneous first aid items, a pencil case, some snacks in the form of a few protein bars and it STILL has pockets to spare. Sometimes it also sees all of the above, plus my work laptop, almost as big as my personal and just as heavy. You’ll often see me hauling it around with my water bottle clipped to one of the D-rings so I can get around hands-free. My keys and phone can all also be either tucked into a free pocket or clipped to a D ring with carabiners. All together it is generally full of an average of 20-40lbs worth of cargo. This bag has put in a lot of miles, LA to Boston and back and many places in between, it commutes with me to and from work, campus, in the car, on the bus, on a bike, hiking on day trips, (thanks to the backpack convertible straps!) I LOVE having the option if carrying it messenger bag style over one shoulder (stylish) vs converted to a backpack (better weight distribution, good for long distances and days whrn its especially heavy, perfect when i need to free up my mobility at the airport,) AND in both modes the straps are ACTUALLY hidden away: if you aren’t using the backpack straps, they can be tucked away and hidden for a sleek messenger bag look and vice versa As well loved as the bag has been, it might reasonably be forgiven if, by now, the shoulder strap was stretched out, if the corners had taken a beating, if the zippers were starting to come unstitched, if it had been stained, if the buckles had begun to chip or become compromised… and yet, it just hasn’t. I just have one last anecdote to share: this past Friday in an unfortunately characteristic display of carelessness, I dumped out an entire 30oz strawberry smoothie over this bag. 15 minutes with a sponge and some dishsoap later not only was the bag good as new, but I was shocked and impressed to find not a drop, neither smoothie nor soapy water, penetrated the waterproof outer layer. All of the typical above described items were in the bag at the time of the spill, including my devices, homework, books, reports, theoretically vulnerable to damage if exposed to water or sticky beverage, but everything in the bag was spotless including the insides of the compartments. Maybe I should have expected this, because I live in the PNW, and it’s also been rained on literally hundreds of times and dried itself out within minutes every time. I don’t go out of my way to go around intentionally setting it down on the ground in the middle of puddles, but I’m never in fear for the safety of my expensive devices walking home in the rain with this bag, and due to where I live of course, that is almost every day. The only thing I can imagine could happen that would cause me to have to go find a new bag is if someone stole this one. If that happened tomorrow I would come right back here and purchase this exact one again. If you’re still here after all of this I sincerely hope this helps! I’ve seen many a Reddit thread full of recommendations for messenger bags that are safe solid and elegant. I’ve never seen this bag recommended, and that’s a shame, because imo this brand deserves to be a household name.

It's a pretty good bag. It's not too big to be inconvenient or bulky, not too small to be cluttered or lack storage. Holds laptops of varying sizes and thickness quite well. Large main pocket good for holding books and/or laptops. Many other smaller pockets for holding other things such as pencils and other necessities. Can carry it like a backpack, with which you can hide the shoulder straps if they are in the way or you don't use them, you can carry it like a satchel with a strap that you can store inside the bag if you don't use it, you can carry it by the side like a suitcase if that's your preference using the two handles, or just carry it by the single handle on the short end. Its material is nice and it is quite durable, it looks good too. Probably one of my favorite bag purchases. You can use it to hold things for work, school, or other things so long as they can fit like things for your board games.
