Lids actually snap shut ensures all air is out keeping food fresh. You can use in dishwasher,and microwave. You don't have to spend a fortune. They don't look like plastic.I could easily mistake them for glass. Great large bowl for picnic salad also. Great price many different colors

The bowls just arrived, and they seem quite nice, other than the fact that I ordered the Blue TPR, and the largest bowl is most definitely purple. The others seem to be shades of blue, but the largest one definitely is not. If it matters to you what colors they are, such as if you are trying to match kitchen colors, just be warned about that. I liked them, but a couple of the lids came scratched as if they were used or not protected before packing. I decided to keep them and wash them well because I could not wait for a replacement.

I love using the set for a small batch of goodies I can choose a smaller bowl and they are air tight seal going to order more so when prepping for cookies I can make batter for more then one kind at a time
