Gym shorts with zippers are not an easy find. Well, you can find them, but they usually are going to cost you. My husband has been desperate for affordable shorts with zippered pockets. He’s forever walking the dog, and in the summer needs a place to securely keep his keys and phone w/o risk of losing them. The zippered pockets alone make this a successful purchase. However, I should note that these shorts are crazy thin. There’s no lining and they don’t really hold their own shape, so compression shorts would be a good addition if you plan on playing basketball in them. The waistband has ventilation and the material makes a bit of crunching sound (almost like a bathing suit). Since it’s winter, he hasn’t had an opportunity to test the cooling effects, but it certainly seems like they’ll be very cooling. There’s not much elastic in the waistband. That’s usually a red flag, but for some reason these shorts stay on my husband’s waist very comfortably. Even without the drawstring tied. In fact, the string itself has a bit elasticity to it. Not sure why they stay up so easily, but they do stay up. He’s very happy with these shorts, but again, make sure you are aware about their overall thinness. My star ratings explained: 5 stars = Exceptional. I recommend to friends. 4 stars = Exceeded expectations. 3 stars = Met expectations. Satisfied with purchase but not overwhelmed. 2 stars = Failed to meet expectations but usable. 1 star = Avoid.

I have nothing bad to say about these gym shorts. I love the bright color, the comfort and how light weight they are. The draw string does appear to be a bit long for my preference, but that's not that big of a deal. I honestly felt like I was wearing nothing while I was working out this morning. They are very stretchy as well.

I can't have enough workout gear. The COOFANDY workout shorts are a welcome addition to my exercise wardrobe. Made of Polyester and Spandex, these shorts are flexible and quick drying. I appreciate the ventilated top as I have found this is helpful for the days when you work up a sweat. The shorts are unlined. I personally like that as it allows me to wear a compression short underneath. There are two pockets both of which have a zipper. I took off one star for this. While in theory, it is nice to be able to secure your keys etc., I have found over time a large per centage of these zippers start to have issues. Overall though comparing prices of similar shorts, at a two for one offer, the COOFANDY workout shorts are a great deal that should last take you through many workouts.

They have zipper pockets! What more do I need to say? Well, there is more actually but at least I can tell you upfront you don't have to worry about your wallet, phone, or keys falling out of your pocket unnoticed while you're working out or running. Big, big plus for me. Otherwise, the material feels good and the construction quality looks good. Mine have no loose threads or obvious seam issues. On the downside, these are unlined but that's not a deal breaker for me at least. They have not been through many wash cycles yet but they are holding up perfectly so far. I'll update this review if a problem arises.

Even after washing them, they have a strong chemical smell. So, if you are sensitive about those kinds of things beware. Shorts seem to be a larger fit than the size, but do shrink a bit in the wash. Unfortunately, the chemical smell didn't go away.
