Description

Continental 0100173 Grand Prix 4-Season 700X23 Black Tire provides you with even greater puncture resistance thanks to the Duraskin fabric. Light-weight racing tires are especially susceptible to damage on the sidewall. Because of this, each year many cyclists are forced to abandon events, for instance in the Paris-Roubaix race. The Duraskin fabric reinforces the sidewall without significantly adding to the weight of the tire. In 2004, cyclists equipped with Duraskin tires had 80 percent fewer flats than those riding on other makes. The compound has also been modified for all-year-round use. You'll cover more kilometers on the Grand Prix 4-Season and won't have to worry about the tire compound hardening and thus the grip performance decreasing. The 23mm, 25mm and 28mm versions also make it possible to select the right tire for various road qualities and comfort requirements. The Grand Prix 4-Season tires also feature Vectran Breaker protection. Vectran is a lightweight, highly abrasion-resistant multi-fibered layer that sits under the tread, and is five times stronger than steel. Specs: Weight - 220 grams; Recommended PSI - 110; Maximum PSI - 120; Up - 10.

  • Continental Grand Prix 4‑Season – Reliable All‑Year‑Round Road Bike Tire
Size: 700x25 Color: Black
The Continental Grand Prix 4‑Season is an outstanding road tire for riding confidently throughout the year. It offers excellent grip in wet and cold conditions while still rolling smoothly on dry roads. Puncture resistance is impressive, making it ideal for daily training and long rides. Overall, it’s a dependable, durable tire that performs consistently no matter the season. ... show more

  • Good, flat resistant tire that is a little more difficult to install
Size: 700x25 Color: Black
Arrived on time, undamaged. These tires are a bit difficult to install, but that's probably due to the many layers of materials that provide very good puncture resistance. Very few flats with these tires and decent tread life. Using with tubes because I don't like the messiness associated with tubeless installations and the twice yearly addition of "Slime" or "Stans" to the tire. ... show more

  • My new set up with Conti Grand prix front and Gartorkin at the rear My new set up with Conti Grand prix front and Gartorkin at the rear
Size: 700x25 Color: Black
This is a early review on this Grand Prix 4 Season foldable 700x25mm. I also have a early review on Gartorskin. This is my first Conti brand tire. here is my story! Got a new bike in my collection, and the Mavic Yksion Comp comes with the bike is so flimsy I am sure it won't have a chance to survivor on NYC roads. And that is the reason I run tubeless on my other bikes include 2 road and 2 MTB. However, on this new bike I desire to run regular tires because I like the wheel set that comes with the bike and I don't wants to spend extra thousands to get a new set of tubeless wheels. So I did many research about puncture proof tires. I finally pull a trigger on this setup, Gartorskin on the rear and the Grand prix 4 season on the front. My goal is have less to no flat, beside I don't do racing so I am ok with bit more weight. The grand prix on the scale is 210g which is very light weight. On Conti website they listed 240g. These tire are directional, the making is camouflage on the sidewall. need to pay attention on it. All tire information like psi, size etc... also camouflage on the sidewall, very hard to read! Mounting them on the wheel is easy and no difficult. I mention this many times on my other tire review. Don't use lever to mount or dismount tires. Many time the lever will damage the bead without knowing it also may have big chance to pinch the tube. So don't complain the bead fail, please try not to plier the tire onto the wheel. The size is true 25mm, not like other review say. They must receive a miss packing item which maybe is return form other buyer. Over all this is a very good quality tire. I also option to use Vittoria Latex tube, Conti don't recommend to use them. However I may plan to inject Orange sealant into it. which latex tube seal more better than butyl. So thats it for now, I will update after 500 miles on them :-) ... show more

  • Performance, durability and longevity—but absurdly overpriced
Size: 700x32 Color: Black
One of my two favorite road tires for fast riding. The other is the Schwalbe Marathon Supreme in the same 700x32C size. The Grand Prix All Season is a bit lighter and a bit higher volume than the Marathon Supreme. Also normally a bit less expensive; however, it is now about 30 percent more expensive. Is it worth 30 percent more than Marathon Supremes? Purely and simply, it is not. This tire is now priced to a level that makes no sense. One can buy a car tire for less. Both are more supple and higher performance than any tire with comparable durability. Much more comfortable ride than, say Continental Gatorskin tires. Dramatically more durable than Continental Grand Prix 5000 tires. All in all, if I were on the Pro Tour I would not choose these tires; but for fast riding in my club’s A Group, I think they WERE ideal BEFORE Conti raised the price of a decent $50 tire to close to $90. ... show more

  • These tires are great for all conditions for a serious recreational cyclist
Size: 700x25 Color: Black
Least compromised all-around road bike tire. These tires a great for all conditions for a serious recreational cyclist. I ride about 3,000 miles per year on my road bike and the GP 4-Season tire is the best compromise for me of durability, speed, traction, flat-resistence and cost. I used to ride Gatorskins for most rides and then switch to Micheline Pro4 or Vittoria CX-III for duathlons or fast centuries. While these are slower than a pure race tire, it is really hard to tell the difference and they ride and corner much better than other 'training' tires. Their traction in the rain and on broken pavement is surprisingly good. I also ride these on gravel paths and am impressed with how few cuts I find in the tread. Great tires. ... show more

  • Very solid performer
Size: 700x32 Color: Black
Hippo is a heavier rider who has run the 700x32 version of these for years traveling about 3000 kms per year. They are my go to, solid performers on roads, paved and non- paved trails and light gravel. They roll well in dry and are grippy in wet conditions. They do okay in light mud. Haven’t used them on snow or ice. The tread wears extremely well. Hippo change them out every 6000kms or so only because that coincides with the start of their 3rd season and Hippo not want to mess with fixin’ a flat. So every other spring he just change them whether it actually needed or not. Probably could go 10000kms or more. They need a little extra encouragement to get on the rim, but not too bad. A very solid performer. Hippo highly recommend. ... show more

  • but FWIW these tires are great. I am a bit of a Continental snob ...
Size: 700x25 Color: Black
If you're researching bike tires, you should probably go read some real reviews on bike-centric forums or websites rather than just Amazon reviews, but FWIW these tires are great. I am a bit of a Continental snob and therefore don't ride anything else. These tires are handmade in Germany, as are all of Continental's premium tires (they do have "budget" made-in-china tires) and I am more than happy to pay the extra money that they command. These tires have never made me feel like there was a lack of grip, I get VERY few flats, and they're good for a couple thousand miles (depending on rider weight). I ride my bike mostly out in the country where there is a lot of detritus in the bike lane or on the shoulder, and I will say that this can carve little chunks out of the tire, but that's the price you pay. You can ride Gatorskins and not have that problem as much, but you will have a much rougher ride because those tires are harder. In my opinion, these are ideal all-weather, all-purpose road bike tires for the casual to serious enthusiast rider. For the same reasons, it is also an excellent choice for bike commuters. ... show more

Yes, they were a bit tricky to mount but overall worth the effort. I’m looking forward to riding on these all summer.
