I not only teach, but I am also in grad school and have a considerable commute to campus when necessary. That said, I purchased this because I needed a travel mug that could go in my backpack without leaking. This one does the trick. It has a really nifty sealing top. I've read some reviews saying it's difficult to use with one hand. I have older, not-so-strong hands, and I found that popping it open was pretty easy, but if you are traveling, you don't need to close the top every time you take a drink because it won't spill through the drinking hole anyway. And it really keeps your drink warm or cold. And, I can seal it and pop it in my backpack to haul to class without any spillage. Quite nice, well worth the buy if you need something truly leakproof. One small drawback - it doesn't take to banging around too much. I did drop it from my desk one day, and it got a pretty good dent in it - a little more and it would not have stood up anymore. So, if you are looking for rugged, this is not it, but for everything else it works a treat.

I am impressed with this travel mug for how long it keeps beverages cold or hot, literally 12 or more hours! I will make a drink with ice the afternoon before and there’s still ice in it in the morning. The first time I put hot water in it I realized it wasn’t going to cool down enough to drink so I had to add cold water. Now I make sure my hot beverages are at ideal temperature for drinking. It truly is leak proof. I can lay it on its side with hot or cold liquids in it and it will not leak. The only downside to this mug is the spout for drinking is very tiny and it just trickles into my mouth. For a good drink, I have to remove the cover. Another comment I have is the grip area of the mug is too high. If it was down an inch or so, it would be better. Overall, the quality is great, it is portable, it is easy to use, easy to clean, the lid is functional and I love the color!

I really love my Contigo. It is the perfect size for me and keeps my coffee hot all day (I fill it at 7 AM and, if I still have coffee at 3 PM, it is almost as hot as when I filled it). The seal is great! I've knocked it over a few times when the drinking spout has been closed, and not a drop of coffee got on the papers I was working on. I’ve had other travel mugs that leaked in similar situations.

My family is loving these to go coffee mugs. They fit well in cup holders, keep the coffee hot, are easy to drink from one handed, are leak proof and easy to clean. And even the tall one fits under our espresso machine. I liked the 2 I bought for my teens so much I bought one for myself as well. I tried to get a different color than my daughter's "pansy" pink so we could tell who's mug is who's. However when the Azalea purple came, it was almost identical in color to the pansy. So if you have a large family of coffee drinkers, just know that Pansy and Azalea are almost the same color.
