I picked this up specifically to serve as a secondary travel device when going abroad. When you are traveling internationally, having an unlocked phone that takes two physical SIM cards is huge. You can keep your primary line on standby while popping in a local prepaid card for cheap data, without having to risk or beat up your expensive everyday phone. Given the rock-bottom price point, I was fully expecting the operating system to be loaded to the brim with annoying bloatware and sponsored apps. I was pleasantly surprised to find it is actually fairly clean. Running a streamlined version of Android keeps things uncluttered, so you are not spending your first hour deleting junk games. It is definitely not the fastest device out there, so you won't be running heavy mobile games, but for navigation, messaging, translation, and pulling up travel tickets, it gets the job done without bogging down. The screen size is generous, giving you plenty of display room to read maps and emails clearly. The panel has decent brightness, and the higher refresh rate makes scrolling through apps feel surprisingly smooth. While budget glass can be hit or miss, the screen durability seems respectable for travel use, and it is nice that they included a pre-applied screen protector right out of the box so you do not have to worry about coins in your pocket scratching it up immediately. The overall physical size fits well in the hand, and the build quality feels sturdier than you would expect for the cost. The camera is decent for quick snapshots and reading documents, and the cellular signal has been great despite not having 5G bands. That lack of top-tier speed is the main reason it remains a reliable backup rather than my primary daily phone. The battery life is another high point, easily carrying through a full day of travel on a single charge without frantically looking for a wall plug.
