So, I finally decided to look for a solution (my sofa, car, carpets, and friends will be grateful). So many have said "you need a spill-proof sippy cup". sheesh! So, this was the first I've tried. Guys, I haven't spilled a drop in 3 days LOL. No really, this is a miracle! Yes, I love this cup. Wish it were bigger. 16 oz. is preferred but, I'm not spilling 8 oz a day, so there's that. So great, so easy. You think pushing a button to drink is a pain, but it's not at all. It's great! YES...buy it! Oh, a little TIP: Put hot water (boiling, even; but tap hot is fine too), in the cup for a few minutes to heat up the stainless before pouring your hot beverage into it (spill out the water before adding your hot beverage, of course ;).     • Absolutely the Perfect Travel Mug!

I've been in search of the perfect coffee mug. I originally purchased the Courtland Chill 24 oz and it was simply too big. I then purchased the Jackson Chill 20 oz and replaced the lid with the Courtland Chill lid because I like the spill-proof aspect of the Courtland lid. The Jackson Chill lid has a big opening and is not spill-proof, only leak-proof. With both Coutland and Jackson, they were bottom-heavy when pressing the AUTOSEAL to sip, and uncomfortable to hold. Also, I had to call Contigo to make sure the Jackson Chill could hold hot liquids since the instruction on the wrapper indicates the product is only for cold liquids. I was assured by a Contigo representative, that hot liquids can be used in the Jackson Chill. After more research, I found the Luxe Stainless 16 oz, which is the ideal size and offers AUTOSEAL, the most important feature to me. The Luxe doesn't feel too bottom-heavy when turning the mug up to drink. I bought the all stainless, inside and out. It is sleek-looking and functions flawlessly. I bought this as a replacement because my original is getting very dented up after 5 plus years on the road. It does not keep beverages, the hottest or the coldest, but it does it well enough and is actually my favorite coffee cup to drink from. The top has the best design for drinking out of. It will easily keep beverages cold for 8 hours or more depending on if you're drinking out of it or not. I will sip on my coffee for several hours while in the car and if I leave it it will stay warm for a good 5 hours before it starts to really cool down. If you put a hot or cold beverage into this cup and do not open it, it will maintain temperature for a lot longer. ... show more

I purchased the metal/stainless steel one. It keeps my coffee warm for hours. The lid is leak proof, and of good quality. In general, the brand is good quality. We have several of these. Love the color options - we know whose is whose. Love the size. It keeps hot beverages hot and cold beverages cold, even when left in a car and we live in Florida. I am a gardener and the press to release button is perfect. No garden soil gets inside, it does not spill when knocked over, and even when wearing grubby garden gloves, the beverage comes out into my mouth with the push of a button without dirt coming in too. My husband loves it too. We are very happy with this item. We use them hard and heavy and we have worn out the lids. I would say that it would be nice to be able to buy replacement lids, but the truth is, by the time the the lids wear out, the metal container is dented and scratched and we are happy to replace them with new. I am a longtime fan of Contigo products. I've had several over the years and praise them up and down. However, this redesigned travel mug is not the upgrade I hoped it would be. Here are a few thoughts: 1) It's uncomfortably narrow. I joke with my friends it's like the Virginia Slim of coffee containers, but in all seriousness, the narrowness makes the mug uncomfortable to hold and drink from. I spill on myself all the time. 2) It leaks even when locked. Not sure why the new bubble stopper isn't working properly but I have gotten coffee on everything in the past weeks I've used this new mug. 3) It sings and clicks. The old design would make noise when the pressure built up inside because it was holding a hot beverage. The new design clicks constantly. Even when I hit the valve to release the pressure it keeps clicking. I find its noisiness extremely annoying. 4) I like the metal on the top aesthetically and to reduce the amount of plastic I'm exposed too, but it does get very hot because it's not double walled like the body. I still think Contigo is a better mug than the competition, but I will look forward to the next design because this one isn't doing it for me. ... show more
