Works if left in a car in full sun in June, where the outside temperature is 90° F, drink will still be have ice in it and be cold! This is my all-time favorite water bottle! I love the sleek, tall design because it’s easy to grasp, especially with small adult or arthritic hands. And, it’s fairly light-weight. I also love the fact that it keeps my water icy cold and the ice doesn’t even completely melt in the hot sun, or even when left in the cup holder in a hot car. Another great feature is the lid. It has a fairly large spout that allows for small ice chips to flow through. Since I’m an ice-muncher, I love this feature although, if I were designing it, It’d make the spout’s diameter even a bit larger. But, for now, when I want to munch on larger chunks of ice, I simply take the lid off. Speaking of lids, the great locking pop-top feature also makes it quick & simple to open. As far as the bottle’s durability goes, I accidentally dropped it on the cement once and it held up well without denting, but it did scratch the paint. I plan to buy another one just as soon as Contigo gets other colors back on the market. This is my absolute favorite bottle in the planet. I have purchased a total of six in the past. They last at least a year or longer—I bang mine up eventually but keep one at work and one at home. It’s very sturdy metal for clean taste. The leakproof cap with a lock is excellent. It has a handle to easy carry it around or attach it to a bag using a carabiner. This bottle is great. My favorite Contigo bottles were seemingly discontinued, but this one is still a solid second choice. It is absolutely leakproof, so long as you use the lock for the lid. I am a klutz, so this is important. The one downside to this is that, unlike the Contigo bottles I used to use, it's just an open, wide mouth spout once you do pop open the lid. So I have to be careful I remember to close it after taking a sip. The ones I used to have opened only when you pressed the button, and they were more of a sip style. I love the variety of colors (I have this light blue and a light purple). I also love the large size. I find it easy to clean. I'm not sure if it's officially dishwasher safe, but I've put mine in and do not have issues in general. The lids are really durable, even with the push button to open it. ... show more

I researched water bottles for a ridiculous amount of time, especially for a $20 purchase. As my husband said, "PICK ONE ALREADY"! I didn't know what size I wanted, what type of opening, which type of cover, or even what color. I knew I would be using this all day every day, so it all seemed really important. I said "I will know it when I see it". I have smaller hands so the weight of the bottle and width of the bottle were important. This one is perfect, especially with the slight indent a little lower than the top. I get pains in my hands, so certain covers were ruled out. Unscrewing types were hard to open, and usually had openings that let the big ice cubes out. Even unscrewing a round cover for a smaller round hole seemed like a chore. Flip straws sounded good, until I realized I wouldn't be able to guzzle or take large amounts of water to help swallow pills. When I saw the "push button open" ones, that got my attention. But I wasn't sure on the color. I liked the blueberry, but it wasn't matte like the others I had looked at and liked. I was worried it would look shiny and cheap. I'm glad I took a chance because I love it. I love the weight, the shape and most especially I love the cover. The button pushes so easy, if it doesn't, make sure the locking slider button is slid all the way to the right. When I first got it, it wasn't, and I thought it was defective.
