I had to edit this because I saw several reviews stating that it ruined their jewelry. Do NOT use this on gold, white gold, platinum, or any jewelry that is painted or has stones in it. It’s only for sterling silver. This is written on the back of the container but it may not be visible in the pictures. They have other cleaning dips for gold or jewelry with stones on it. On to the product review. I have use this for years, but haven’t been able to find it locally for some reason so I bought it on here. I’ve tried the cleaning/polishing towels for silver jewelry and the paste form with a brush. They don’t work as well as this. Seriously you dip your silver jewelry for 10 seconds, and the tarnish is gone. Just rinse and dry afterwards then you’re good to go. I like that the container was placed in a ziplock type bag when it was shipped. It didn’t spill but it’s definitely a good precaution to have in there. ... show more

I’m not a person generally used to leave reviews but when it comes to ruining things I will. If you do not want your wedding ring to be ruined do not buy. I had to take mine to my jeweler because this cleaning agent ate all the finish off. It has to be redipped. Please do not buy.

I have some of the traditional Tiffany silver jewelry (the linked chain and the heart) which i have always liked to wear but it is the biggest pain to polish and to get in those grooves of the chain links would drive anyone crazy. not worth all the effort (and i have the necklace AND the bracelet). That was my main motive for buying this cleaning solution but i also have some other silver jewelry that would benefit. so it works JUST as it says. within in SECONDS i had gleaming, beautiful jewelry that looked like i took hours polishing. i did not even remember the last time those pieces looked that good. Added bonus: i had some cheaper jewelry that i thought had the cheap silver film coming off and was ready to throw away. Before I did so, i went ahead and threw those pieces in the basket too. it was NOT the film coming off, it was tarnish on the silver plating I guess b/c this restored those pieces too and they are also looking like brand new! couldn't be happier. this is NOT to be used on stones or anything else. please read the actual details of the product. there is another jewelry cleaner for stones and other items. this is silver and silver plated jewelry only. **the smell: i almost did not get it after people said it smelled. So when first opening, it almost smelled like one of those "wintergreen" tablets that are often in the airplane bathrooms. then after i kept using it kind of DID smell like the actual potty contents w/the wintergreen over it. LOL. so i can def detect the unpleasant smell. however, unless you stick your nose right in it, the smell is not at all over powering. i have a VERY deep sink in the kitchen. i put the container in the sink and used it that way and kept my head and my nose pretty far from the container. it was fine. This product is proof of black magic. I had a pile of disgusting black sterling silver jewelry from an expensive store. I ordered this item and it delivered in the expected time. I called my husband over to participate in the degunking of my jewelry. This product works instantly. I mean I literally just put an item in and it was shiny and silver again. I stopped multiple times to take pictures because I was so excited to share my results. In one, I show how different a pair of earrings look if you clean just one. In another, I cleans a little part of a pendant. The difference is shocking. My husband was so impressed that we ran around the house to try to find more silver items to clean. One word of warning: I would only use this item on sterling silver. It seems like it stripped a little color off my gold plated silver items. I am changing my review. Like in my first review, the cleaner did work. But, the intense and strong smell on my next batch stayed on the earrings and my home. The only way I got it out of the earrings was by washing my earrings with liquid dish soap. As for my home, I had to open the windows and use the fan. Somehow, my face got irritated too - a burning feeling. I definitely will not use this cleaner again. Plus, there is a cheaper and safer way to clean your silver jewelry - toothpaste. I used Colgate toothpaste on a soft toothbrush to clean the rest of my silver jewelry. It worked just as well as this cleaner without all the side effects. ... show more

This stuff is incredible! Dunk for 10 seconds, rinse, and wipe. That’s it. Follow the warning label and only use on sterling silver (not jewelled, not pure silver, sterling. silver. only). You can tell if it’s sterling silver by the S925 stamp. This is the best thing I’ve bought in a while, I’d give it 6/5 if I could! Did I mention only using it on sterling silver?
