  • Nice one-piece, grab-n-go, head, ear & neck cover with brim
Size: Large Color: Black
It has a nice stiff brim, and the white piping on the brim is light-reflective. The ear/neck flap folds down & back up easily, quickly converting from ball cap to hat with ear & neck warming. The fabric is a lightweight, smooth, finely woven, snag-resistant nylon exterior. It and the brim covering readily accept silicone waterproofing spray for ultimate rain & snow resistance. The inside has a very thin layer of soft, felt-like fleece that's comfortable on the head and ears. The total thickness of the fabric sandwich is approximately 1/8" or less. The fabric is a little noisy in your ears when you turn your head back-and-forth when the flap is down. It's not quite like the snug fit you get on your ears from an elastic knit beanie; there's a tiny air gap where strong winds can still get to your ears a bit. There is a tension adjustment on the rear of the flap to help it fit as close as possible. Even so, it feels warm and stops radiation heat loss on your ears even if there is a little air gap. The hat goes on and comes off your head easily, with the flap either down or up. Its ideal for wearing with a jacket that has a hood, because the brim/visor keeps the hood from falling down in front of your eyes. In this case you get two layers of insulation (hat/flap + hood) and a sun/rain visor. The fabric of the hat will fold easily and collapse against the front curve, making it relatively easy to stow in a large-ish zip pocket. The brim is stiff and can't be folded without creasing/damaging it so it doesn't stuff into a pocket quite as easily as a knit cap. ... show more

  • Surprisingly protective during cold water immersion
Size: Large Color: Dark Grey
I bought this hat to protect my head from cold water immersion shock when kayaking. Tested the hat repeatedly by rolling my Yak in 40 degree lake water. I didn't even think my head went under water on first roll - that's how much protection the hat provided. I rolled my kayak 3 times while wearing this hat, and each time, my bald head didn't feel the cold water shock that my face felt when contacting the water. At one point during my excursion, and before I started immersion testing, I had the hat on loosely and the wind blew it off and into the 40 degree lake water. Crapola! I squeezed out the excess water by hand, put the hat back on, cinched it down and it felt dry, despite still being damp on the inside. The only knock I have on this hat is I wish it could be adjusted a little tighter. ... show more

  • Nice, put ear flaps stuck out
Size: Large Color: Navy Blue
I really liked this hat. It's a nice light weight spring/fall cap. But since I would mostly wear it with the ear flaps up I decided against it because the flaps kinda stuck out. I bought two different hats to try and kept the other hat that had snaps to hold the ear flaps in place.

  • This winter ball cap fits the "bill"!
Size: Large Color: Black
I needed a ball cap for the winter months that would keep my head and ears warm. I do a lot of driving and the sun in the winter can be brutal when it's low in sky. I needed a cap with a bill that would shield my eyes while driving. The Connectyle Waterproof Winter Hat really fit the "bill" (sorry about that)! It's light weight and sheds water and snow. Plus, the ear flaps are a bonus and protect my ears from wind chills. I don't mind if I kinda look like Elmer Fudd while I'm wearing it because the protection it offers is the important thing. The bill is a nice size and does a good job protecting my eyes from the winter glare. I'm very pleased with this cap and I love how adjustable it is! Now where's the pesky wabbit? ... show more

  • Waterproof but Won't Stay put
Size: Large Color: Dark Grey
I ordered this hat because I wanted something for wind and rain when we're traveling. However, this one is quite large. They're are straps to tighten it but they don't stay tight. Material is nice and lightweight but because I couldn't keep it on my head I had to return it.
