As my dog is getting older, her legs are starting to fail her. So, trips to the vet in the backseat can be a challenge as she doesn't stand well but likes to sit and look out the window. If I have to brake or turn, she doesn't always have the strength to keep herself from losing balance and can fall to the floorboard. I bought this to make a more comfortable and safer ride for her. On our first use, I probably had it inflated more than needed so I took some air out on the way home and it was easier for her to balance on. Too much air made it almost bouncy for her. I also put a blanket over the mattress so she would not puncture it with her nails. I love the two parts that go in the foot area of the back seat floorboard. This support was the best and made the backseat easier for her to lay in, stand in and safely walk/turn around on. I know this is not the intended purpose so the review may not help many but it is a helpful way for me to feel so much better about our hour-long trips to the vet. I don't have to turn the rear view mirror or constantly look back to see if she is standing ok or having a hard time laying down on a seat that is not deep enough for her. I used it in an 2004 GMC Canyon, and it was a bit large for the back seat area but I didn't blow up either of the side cushions or extra pillows. It seemed like a good idea. My wife needed back surgery and we had to take a five hour trip for a wedding, so I set up in the back of my forerunner. Tried to lay in there myself and forget it. There’s just no comfortable way for a grown adult to lay down in that thing and be comfortable. Might be great for kids? Don’t forget there’s no way to buckle anybody in, so not really recommended for driving down the road. . ... show more

For reference, I have a Honda Odyssey Elite 2021 and this doesn't fit as I expected in my car. It is kinda short but a little too wide. I returned it and leave it at 3 stars as a neutral feedback since it didn't work for us but might be for someone else in a standard SUV

Pros: The mattress is much sturdier than I expected. At first it felt like it could easily pop because the plastic side has some stretch and "gives" a little when I apply pressure, but it hasn't popped yet. We inflated it and put it in the car so my kids could test it out, and they loved it. It's surprisingly comfortable (but tall people won't be able to stretch out). This mattress has some unique features like (1) a built-in cup holder on one side, and (2) the backrest and floor space fillers are detachable. There are little plastic pin-hook thingies on the mattress that you attach the backrest to, but it wasn't easy to attach or detach it without fear of tearing something. I will probably leave it attached but having the backrest makes this much more comfortable. Cons: None yet. It would've been nice to have the air pump with an AC outlet and 12v cigarette lighter, mine only has the car plug. Also, I didn't want the beige color because we camp in areas with rust red soil, but the darker ones wouldn't have arrived in time. I will update this review once the mattress finally fails with an idea of how many uses you can expect. ... show more

My only initial review I have about this mattress is that it is not easy to inflate. Maybe because the air valves are new and somehow need to be 'warmed up' to allow the nozzles to fit well enough to make it easier to inflate. The nozzles themselves should have a better way to be 'nested' to fit together for storage and access so they are not int he way when trying to use one of the nozzles to inflate the mattress. ... show more
