It heats very well, it curls very well. But, the button placement is very easy to hit and accidently turn off the curling iron (which is true for a lot of these - I wonder if the designers have actually used one). And the metal arm prop (to set it on the table without the hot part touching - gets as hot as the iron (trust my burnt fingers on this one). You are better off getting a silicone mat and just folding that out of the way and laying it on the mat. If I could figure out a way to remove that I would - a fix would be to use something other than metal for that, or to coat it with something. I like all of the temp control settings and the barrel size. I don't use this one for spirals; I use it to curl my shoulder length hair under as I have a blunt bob cut; and it works great for that. No more than 10 secs for each section and I am good to go. It also slides really well, so if I have a spot that needs to be straightened a bit, it works for that as well. ... show more
