Wow! I love this hair waver! I got so many compliments using it the first time. The results are amazing and I find this iron to be less damaging than most because you don’t actually have to touch the ends of the hair with the hot irons. (The hair tool waves the hair ends in the proper direction without actually having to put your ends through heat damage.) The result is a long lasting, beachy wave with a lot of volume. There’s several heat settings and a turbo-heat button for an extra blast of heat when needed. The ceramic curling barrels produce a beautiful wave. I waved my hair one time and slept on it- and it MIGHT have looked better the next day. Lol. I was impressed. The waves lasted forever. Now for the honest cons of this hair waver: It’s heavy. Like...as heavy as a hammer. I slightly grazed myself with the hot iron at the nape of my neck using it the first time because it took some time to get used to how end-heavy the waver is. Also, when I’m gripping the hair waver or turning it to do a section of hair, sometimes my hand accidentally moves the heat dial or presses one of the buttons because they’re in the way a little bit. It’s slightly annoying to have the controls where they are, near the handle. Over all: This hair tool is TOTALLY worth the price and the results. We bought this as a surprise for our 8 year old. I always braid her hair at night for crimps in the morning. This tool has replaced the braiding and works amazing! It heats up fast, the waves stay in (even without hairspray), and it doesn’t fry her hair. I would definitely recommend this product because of its quality and its price point! ... show more

Not loving this for a few reasons… (Note: I bought this as a gift for my 11 year old daughter, but I tried it out first.) 1. I don’t like the look/ results, waves are too tight for my preference. I should have gotten a larger barrel, but I also just don’t like the “crimped”/ permed look- not natural looking. 2. It gets really hot, which could be a Pro for some people, but I think it’s dangerously hot. And most of all, the lever where you place your thumb to open the iron is barely insulated- only a small end part. My thumbs are not particularly huge, so it fits on there fine, but I guess I got a little hasty and reached my thumb too far forward to press it open and got burned a little. If it would have been my 11 year old daughter using this, I would have heard sobbing, as it could have been worse. *I don’t think I’ll be letting my daughter use it by herself. Besides the risk of burning herself, I also don’t want her to burn her hair right off! The heat is very intense and not easy for inexperienced people (kids) to gauge based on the dial. 3. Finally, I don’t think it’s ideal for long hair, because it’s difficult to figure out where to clamp the waver down after the first and each consecutive wave. It might be easier if I was using it on someone and could look directly at I vs. looking at myself reaching above and backwards in the mirror. Maybe it’s just me, but I made some ugly looking kinks and uneven waves. Overall, I think I should have just gotten a basic curling wand with hot glove, but I thought the waver would be more efficient. Learned some lessons- especially, beautifying medium long hair with natural looking waves takes time and precision. ... show more
