The book is good, perhaps to a fault. It has an abundance of information. I worked in IT since the early nineties (before certifications) and learned a lot. This book is fine for me since I am familiar with old legacy systems, the evolution of computers, and operating systems. But, I believe this book would be intimidating, if not overkill for a novice with little or no experience. It would be better if the images were clearer or in color (but that would drive up the price). I noticed that many terms and acronyms are not in the glossary. Despite its faults, it is still a very good book especially for individuals with experience in the field. ... show more

    • Author has issues with writing in second person point of view
This book has good information; however, it also has issues. The author has a habit of writing in second person point of view. It's always better to write in the third person point of view when writing these types of books like this. That is the reason I gave it a 4-star review.
