  • Good stuff!
I got this for my son. He broke his first one and was really wanting a new one. This one was awesome! The case...worth it's weight in gold. We love it! Very nice quality.

  • Microscope
The Compound Microscope with WF10x and WF25x eyepieces is definitely a big step up from the smaller, more basic microscope we had before this one. It’s marketed as a children’s or student microscope, so it is important to set expectations that it is not a high-end laboratory model with extreme magnification, but it is still very capable and fun to use. One nice feature is that it can be powered either with USB or batteries, which makes it flexible depending on where you want to use it. It also comes with a sturdy storage case with foam inserts, which helps keep everything organized and protected when not in use. A fun surprise for me was the included phone holder, which lets you attach your phone to the microscope to capture images or videos. I did not realize that was included, so that was a nice bonus. I homeschool my son, so I know this will get a lot of use in our lessons. Even as an adult, I really enjoy looking closely at things under a microscope. I never had one growing up, so it still feels exciting to explore with. That said, this is not something you just pull out and instantly master. It does take some time and practice to learn how to use it effectively and get the clearest views. But if you are willing to take the time, it can be a very useful and engaging learning tool for both kids and adults. ... show more

  • Nice entry-level home microscope at a low price point Nice entry-level home microscope at a low price point
This is a nice entry-level microscope for both children and adults. The build-quality is not very high, but it is completely reflective of the price. Treat it with care, and it will last a long time. It comes with a protective case to store when not in use. This can be powered by USB with the included cable and USB wall adapter, or you can also use 3 AA batteries if you want greater portability. It could also be powered from a USB power bank connected to the USB cable instead of the wall plug. It comes with material to make your own slides, or examine one of the ten pre-made slides. As a learning tool, it is great to start with the pre-made slides, then move on to creating your own by finding things in your surroundings. This would be great for homeschoolers. Or for the parents that have a child interested in science. The included phone holder is a nice touch to record your memories. It can be a little difficult to set up the phone holder, especially if you have a multi-lens camera phone, because it will sometimes want to switch lenses on you as you get it set up. For the price, you can't go wrong with this microscope. ... show more

  • Excellent teaching tool for biology and for looking at semiconductors. Versatile and quality made!
I got this microscope as I wanted to teach my class what a silicon chip looks like at the nano level as well as inspecting flat wire embedded into PCBs. I also got this so I can teach my niece and nephew biology when I babysit. Wow! What a find! This comes in a reinforced case to keep everything in. Everything has its place in the bag. You get 3 different magnification eyepieces and 3 different lenses. It has 2 ways to focus too. It comes with everything you need to set up a slide for inspection. This quality microscope also comes with a mount for your phone so you can use your phone to take awesome photos of what you see in the eyepiece. This is easy to use, completely functional, easy to set up, easy to clean when done, and has so many options. This is pro level. My sister is a high school biology teacher and wants to borrow it for her class. The value for the money is there 100%! Overall, I am so happy to have found this microscope. I use this every day and it still looks like new with just basic maintenance. I can with complete confidence recommend this to anyone looking for a microscope at a great price. This has everything you need in one compact case. You will not be disappointed, I promise! ... show more

  • GREAT VALUE AT CURRENT MARKET PRICE
This compound binocular microscope is a solid, versatile option for students, hobbyists, or home science enthusiasts diving into biology, chemistry, or basic microscopy. The six magnification levels (40X–2000X) from the WF10X and WF25X wide-field eyepieces combined with 4X, 10X, 40X, and 100X achromatic objectives deliver clear, detailed views—40X and 100X are great for locating specimens, while 400X and up (especially with the 100X oil-immersion objective) reveal cell structures, bacteria, or plant tissues impressively sharp for this price range. The dual LED illumination (top for opaque objects like coins or fabrics, bottom transmitted for slides) provides bright, even lighting without overheating samples, and the coaxial coarse/fine focus knobs make adjustments smooth and precise—no frustrating hunting for focus like on cheaper models. Build quality feels sturdy with a metal frame and stable stage clips, though it's not lab-grade heavy. Setup is straightforward, and it includes basic accessories to get started right away. After a few weeks of regular use with prepared slides and homemade pond-water samples, images stayed crisp with minimal chromatic aberration at higher powers. Excellent after-sales support promise is reassuring too. It's not a professional research tool, but for education, exploration, or introducing kids to microscopy, it punches well above its weight and offers fantastic value. ... show more

  • Great entry-level microscope with real capability Great entry-level microscope with real capability
This is a solid entry-level microscope that manages to strike a nice balance between affordability and actual functionality. It’s not a toy… it’s a legitimate microscope with real optical components and features you’d normally expect from more expensive units. For a student, beginner, or hobbyist, this is a great starting point that doesn’t feel overly compromised. The build quality is better than expected at this price point. It has proper objective lenses, multiple eyepieces, and both coarse and fine focus controls, which makes a big difference when you’re trying to dial in a clear image. The dual illumination setup is also useful, letting you view both translucent and more opaque samples depending on how you configure the lighting. I picked this up specifically to help with mushroom identification, mainly looking at spores, and it does the job reasonably well. As long as you understand the basics of sample prep and what you’re looking for, you can get usable results. It’s definitely capable enough for hobby-level microscopy and basic scientific exploration. The kit itself is also pretty generous. You get slides, tools, and a handful of accessories that make it easy to get started right away. That makes it especially appealing for students or anyone new to microscopes who doesn’t already have lab supplies on hand. One thing to keep in mind is the advertised magnification. Like a lot of microscopes in this category, the higher-end numbers are a bit optimistic from a practical standpoint. You can technically reach those magnifications, but image quality at the extreme end isn’t going to match what you’d get from higher-end equipment. That said, anyone familiar with microscopes will already expect that. Overall, this is a well-made, functional microscope that’s perfect for learning, hobby use, or light scientific work. It’s a great value for what it offers and a solid choice for a first microscope. ... show more

  • Decent microscope kit for the price - but missing parts, quality control problems, + no contact info Decent microscope kit for the price - but missing parts, quality control problems, + no contact info
Pros: - Good selection of lenses. Eyepieces in 2x, 10x, and 25x combined with objective lenses provide decent clarity at each magnification. - Fine-grained control is smooth. - Stage is large enough to accommodate different slide sizes. - LED lamp provides the right level of lighting to observe at low and high power. - There’s a lot of included accessories to get a new user started with making and maintaining slides. - Housing is metal and base is solidly built and level. - Good all-in-one kit for the price. - Cell phone holder is a nice bonus. Cons: - My microscope arrived not fully assembled and missing parts. The head of the microscope has no screws in it, and can’t be fully seated. There are no screws included in the package (see photos). - The instructions state there’s a warranty, and that customer service is available (see photo). However, the instructions provide no details around the manufacturer or how to contact them. There’s no manufacturer name on the scope or any of the materials. Searching online for the manufacturer provided in the product description (“Woehrsh”) provides no results. Overall, this is a decent microscope for casual use, but there are clearly quality control issues based on my experience. In addition, if you ever need to claim warranty repair or contact customer service, there appears to be no way to do so. ... show more

  • GREAT HOMESCHOOLING TOOL - GREAT VALUE GREAT HOMESCHOOLING TOOL - GREAT VALUE
FTC Disclosure: This item was received free through the Amazon Vine program for my review. I haven't used a microscope since I was a kid, and I'm almost 70 years old now! This is not a toy, but a really nice microscope that has endless possibilities for exploring with and without kids, which is why I got it! I've enclosed a 4.5-minute video (raw footage) of unwrapping this gift, and it's pretty obvious that I have no clue what I'm doing - first time getting it out of the case! There's A LOT to this item with A LOT of accessories, which is VERY NICE. I love being able to share this with others. I'm a beekeeper and will be microscopically checking bee stuff in the Spring. I've also included a few pictures; the blue picture was a provided sample of a leaf. I have 4 slides of sugar, one of beard hair, which we didn't detail much, and then my friend John is checking out things on a slide. When we opened this, an hour went by like minutes! There is a learning curve to all this, so patience is needed. WHAT I LIKE: Carrying case - zippered, inserted protection foam, really nice appearance, great for storing away. Has 3 lenses and foam with holes to put them in. Lots of accessories, including blank glass slides. I really like the ability to take pictures with a cell phone, which allows a person to post and share the things they explore. The microscope is well-built; it doesn't feel like a toy but like something from a laboratory. I love that you don't have to depend on batteries for it to work. If you are looking for some science help at homeschooling and considering a microscope - BUY THIS ONE! It has an appearance of durability, not cheap. NOTE: You ARE NOT going to see viruses, like the COVID virus - this is not that kind of microscope, BUT - you can explore red and white blood cells and much more! MY DISLIKES: Although it has an option for picture taking with the cell phone, I found that I had to hold the phone for it to see and take the picture. The weight of the phone would not allow it to look directly at the specimen, but it was still able to be used. It takes a little practice and getting used to - it's not something you just plug in and take off using unless you have had experience with scopes (most of us have no experience). WOULD I BUY IT? YES! This is an exceptional microscope; it has great versatility, it's very educational, and the price is great - you get more than you pay for! VERY COOL... ... show more
