This product covered the prior thermostat area and all the unpainted areas where there was older paint color on the wall. Pros: Colors match. Quick installation. Cons: I had to remove the thermostat base which was secured to the wall to install the cover and reattach the wires. But that's on me for ordering this cover instead of one that has a larger hole to go around the thermostat base. ... show more

Had to take the thermostate out to install which stunk, but it didn't take too long and was easy enough to figure out. Saved me from match paint after installing the nest which was way smaller than my last thermostat. Good investment.
