This is advertised as a lock for your nest thermostat. As other reviewers had stated, THIS IS NOT A LOCK. It easily pulled apart with the slightest tug. I installed it thinking the "lock" was decent but once attached to the wall, this thing is pointless. I had to wrap a small piece of tape around the seams so that it would hold this together. Looks good, made cheaply and did not latch once installed. I had to reinstall it in order to get it to latch properly. The latching mechanisms are very weak. I was going up return it but ended up keeping it because it just needs to keep my child from changing the settings, and it seems just secure enough for that. It fits perfectly and looks good but you have to remove the nest to install the cover so unless you do it on first install it’s a project. Then I couldn’t get it to show up in my phone, says it’s offline even though it’s WIFi connected. So I have to control manually which means I have to remove the cover each time. Cover removes fairly easy, so not great if you are trying to prevent an older child or adults from messing with it, but I got it to prevent my mother in law from pressing into the menus inadvertently so it worked for that. ... show more

First this was just in a box, not new, no screws no plastic on it. Put this on and within minutes my son had the front plate ripped off, video attached. Also found that nest has a “lock” option in the settings. Don’t buy this, just use the lock setting

Cheap garbage. We purchased this to keep our kids from being able to mess with the thermostat. The thing pops off with almost no effort. Kind of pointless. We just lock it from the app 🤷♀️

Comes off if you bump it. Opening it to install it bent the parts so it wouldn't even go back on without bending the tiny pieces back. Looks nice, but not functional at all.
