  • Good Value.... I only have a couple of minor complaints
We have been very happy with this product. I have never tried to detach it and use the handle. I use this on my Aerial Rider D class limited Ebike. It is attached to their rear rack accessory. It is a fairly sturdy case but I wish that it was held on by more hardware. One reason that I got it was to help keep my son from falling off the back of my bike when I accelerate. This has also take some of his fears away as well. My only other wish for this product is that the rear tail reflectors actually lit up. I have added tail lights and turn signals to my bike but I do wish that this had some USB rechargeable tail lights that could be removed for charging and then replaced as that would help the night time visibility of my ebike. I would very much recommend this product to a friend and find it a decnt value at its current price point. ... show more

  • Spacious, mobile, easy to install
I was looking for something that would allow me to carry stuff on my motorcycle. I found somebody who installed one of these on their motorcycle and it seemed like it would work well. I bought the largest one so I would be able to stop at the store if need be. Installation was easy. I couldn't use the included bolts because they were too long so I used the factory bolts and it worked fine. Took about 5 minutes to install. Operation is pretty straightforward. Turn the key, open the lid. With the box on the motorcycle it is hard for me to get off without dragging my foot across my seat. I'm afraid I will eventually rip the seat cover. The padded seat back is a nice feature if you were to have a rider. My kids fit fine between me and the seat back and are secure enough for a ride around the yard. I dont know if the red reflectors do much. I thought about taking them off and putting some thin LEDs in there and connect to the brake switch to make them a functional brake light. Definitely recommend. ... show more

  • The mounting plate is weak and will break.
Overall this is a great box for the price. I just had the mounting plate shear off yesterday leaving the box on the ground at 60mph. Luckily my riding partner was behind me and saw it or I would have lost it altogether on a mountain road as I didn't feel it break off. I have purchased a second box and will NOT use the mounting plate at all this time. The plastic mounting plate attaches to the grid of your seat with a couple screws but will sucomb to the stress and break. Also the one little pin and mounting bracket should not be counted on for a passenger to lean against. Better to drill out the bottom of the box, buy some metal plats and U Clamps at the hardware store to mount the box to your grid. You sacrifice being able to take the box on and off quickly but the OEM method is just not secure enough. ... show more

  • Phenomenal product for the money!
I put this on my 2005 Suzuki V-Strom. It was a little tricky to install, but not too bad. I was able to get the included mounting brackets to work, but I'll likely swap it out as it's not the most confidence-inspiring setup. That said, this top box is big, sturdy, latches confidently, and looks good. I was shocked that the backrest is actually cushioned, not just hard plastic! It might be a little tight for 2 full-face helmets (maybe if you put one upside down?), but there is storage aplenty. My full-face helmet, jacket, gloves, and a backpack fit easily. Also, the quick-release was a nice surprise! I assumed I'd be stuck with it on, but it takes about 10 seconds to get it on or off. It's not a replacement for a metal, hard top case. And maybe the latch is a little weaker than is ideal. But honestly, at this price, it's a steal. I feel just as confident leaving my helmet in this in the city as I do on a cable lock (it would take just as long to break into this as that, plus it's not visible!). I would highly recommend this for a case on a budget! ... show more

  • Not bad, not great
First I would say this is a good product for the money. However, there are some issues. First the good. It looks decent, works well, price is great, and it was not difficult to install. However, I had some serious concerns about the mounting bracket, especially after reading some alarming reviews about it falling off the bike. Now the not so good. The mounting bracket is plastic, and not the most sturdy plastic. If you overtighten the bolts you can easily break off the small "diamond" pattern. I personally made some extra metal washers (they need to be square) and added a few extra mounting bolts for extra insurance. The other issue is that there is no release latch. To remove the box you need to take out a thumb screw inside the box. Unfortunately there is no way to guarantee this screw won't vibrate loose when riding, and if it comes out you just launched your box off the back of the bike. I purchased a metric wing nut and jammed it against the bottom of the trunk (see picture). This will prevent the bolt from coming loose. Honestly, I ordered another box from another supplier that uses a metal mounting bracket and has a release button to remove the box from the bike. I will probably return this one, but if you can live with the other issues this isn't a bad product. ... show more

  • This trunk is awesome!
Purchased this trunk to mount on my moped after the small, flimsy one that came with it broke and fell off somewhere along the highway. This trunk is a great value, one of the best purchases I've made. It's very sturdy, is large enough to actually fill up with goods or groceries. It makes my moped look more substantial. The mounting hardware leaves a little to be desired. I bought a couple of 8" mending plates and used those to attach on the underside of my rack. Took me about 10 minutes to install. The trunk is always locked and opens with a key.. It attaches to the honeycomb mounting plate with a single screw with a knob on it which is more than sufficient. It has a handle and can be easily taken off and carried like a suitcase. Comes with a nicely padded backrest for your passenger. Very impressed. Great value. ... show more

  • Great Value
Bought this case to go on my KLR 650. The wife wanted something to rest her back on and also not have to worry she was going to fall back. It's a little flimsy when open but pretty sturdy when closed. I don't like the fact that there's no way to open with a push button or lever. You have to use the key each time. I do like that I can remove just one thumbscrew and it will come right off the bracket. I like to ride without when I'm riding by myself. Over all a great trunk for the money. I have used on 2 trips and the inside remained dry and the wife hasn't had any complaints. ... show more
