This might be the best box fan I've ever had. The air flow is so strong the fan slowly moves back and falls off my nightstand. I got a chair propped up against it. It's loud too, great for white noise to drown out the random sounds outside your sleep area.

I suppose this is just inflation but I bought 3 of these fans for 34.95 in April 2020. One for each room. It is May 2023 and one of the fans (probably the most used in the living room) finally DIED. The other two are still working fine. I came back to see the price jumped! I doubt I would buy multiples again at this price but I liked the fact the fans were black and not white or grey and they do the job they are meant for. I run my fans hard and for hours at a time if not a day or two in a row. Yes I have AC but like circulation in my unit and the white noise to sleep is bonus. ... show more

This fan worked well while it lasted. Then it died 6 weeks after I received it. The fan has a fuse that blew and I replaced it. This did not resolve the problem. Apparently the fuse was insufficient to protect the fan from common AC fluctuations. NOTE: This was not the result of a significant power surge, such as you would use a surge protector for. I have other devices on the same circuit that are far more sensitive and they have had no issues. This problem is the result of bad design and very low quality parts. There is a reason why good fans and similar devices do not use fuses. They do not need them as their components can handle the normal fluctuations that are always present in AC current. Well made devices that are sensitive enough to be harmed by those fluctuations employ a power supply. (Wall wort or brick on the power cord.) Or they integrate power conditioning into the unit. This fan would require a UPS battery backup to be reliable. Surge protectors do not help in these situations. They are designed to protect your devices from high energy spikes that result from situations such as blown transformers or lightning strikes. Bottom line: This fan is way over priced and completely unreliable. I will probably go back to Lasko as they have always had really good fans in the past. ... show more

This thing definitely moves air. The "low" setting on this one is like the "high" setting on my old box fan (different brand). So if you wanted a low-key quiet box fan, this is not it. This was a nice and fairly quiet fan that I used in my bedroom at night. I didn't have any isses with it but after only having it 7 months it just stopped working. I cleaned it out and still nothing. Disappointed..
