I bought this about two months ago because I started seeing roaches around my apartment after my neighbor kept leaving trash and food outside of their front door. In my 3 years living here, I’ve never seen more cockroaches until the last few months. I bought a 12 pack and put six traps around the apartment. One/two traps in each: living room, kitchen, bedroom, dining room, and my office. In the first month, I felt like nothing was working because we had found three different cockroaches running around our apartment, but after the second month, I started finding a bunch of dead roaches around the apartment. The way the trap works I believe, is that the roaches will go inside of the trap eat the poison and then bring it back to the other cockroaches and eventually they’ll die from the poison and it’ll spread. The trap is not sticky at all and it’s very simple to set it up. It’s not messy and the design is very simple and very sleek. I would say that the trap is not the fastest, but it’s very easy to hide from children or pets and it works very efficiently personally. I also use ortho bug spray and I spray my apartment at least once a month from the outside doors to the windows and all crevices I can find. This really isn’t a part of the review, but my biggest tip would be to dispose of the DEAD cockroaches by throwing them very far away from your home or by burning them completely. This is primarily because I have found two large roaches around my neighbors apartment front door and they had eggs attached to them. Even after pest control, my neighbors still had a hard time with those pesky bugs. So even if you kill them and you try to crush them as much as you can a lot of of those eggs could still easily hatch and you could still have a roach problem. I hope this helps anyone!

This product kicks A$$ !!!!! I read the reviews, looking for a product with lots of positive remarks, and this one seemed to be at the top of the list. Thankfully, my friends here at Amazon really came through on this one. Since moving into my current rental, I've been plagued with various "waves" of cockroach infestations, eventually discovering that a lot of them were getting into the house through the small lower openings in my front and side door. These beasts were huge, slow and disgusting, and the last thing I wanted to do was smash them with my foot. (Yuck. Who wants to use a squeegee to clean up your tile?) Eventually the landlord installed a rubber flap along the bottom of one door, and I learned to keep the other one closed for the most part. This stopped the larger ones from getting inside, but in the last few months I've been seeing smaller ones in my bathroom. (Late at night.) Finally, disgusted with the Fu@#$ things, I decided to go with modern-day toxins, and go on the attack. (All hail Ortho, Monsanto etc. Very un-green I know...but I'm not about to invite spiders etc. into my house to do the job "naturally.") BOTTOM-LINE, my beastly pets of "the slimy exoskeleton" are gone. The very first night, I actually caught the little beggars sneaking into the "trap" which means that Combat's bait is a good one, it really does attract cockroaches and it seems to begin working from the moment you set out the trap. Now ask yourself...how often, have you read the "hype," paid your money, then been PERFECTLY satisfied with the results? Very rare experience indeed, but for me, this is exactly what happened. I can only believe that my uninvited insects took the bait home, and provided their entire scraggly hoard with a much deserved "dirt-nap." (Funny...I don't feel any guilt at all!)
