  • Excellent Value and Extremely Comfortable
Size: 11 Color: Elk/Mountain Red
I am very impressed with the Columbia Women’s Newton Ridge Plus Amped boots. True to size. Right out of the box they were incredibly comfortable, with no break in period needed. The cushioning and support make them easy to wear for long walks, hikes, or all day errands without foot fatigue. The traction feels stable and secure on different surfaces, and the boots are lightweight while still feeling durable and well made. They provide great support without feeling stiff or heavy. For the quality, these boots are an excellent value for the money. They perform like much more expensive hiking boots while still being stylish enough for everyday wear. Overall, they are super comfortable, reliable, and a great investment. ... show more

  • Comfortable and Durable Hiking Boots
Size: 8.5 Color: Elk/Dark Stone
I’ve been wearing these hiking boots for the past few months on trails and around town, and they were very comfortable from the start. The break-in period was non-existent (they were ready to wear right out of the box), and they provide excellent support for long walks. The grip is solid on both dry and wet terrain, and the boots feel durable enough to handle regular use. The waterproofing is excellent and my feet stayed completely dry, even when crossing a river! The boots are lightweight enough to wear for all day wear, but for longer hikes they may become a bit heavy feeling. They are true to size and width and have proven to be a great choice among the many options there are for hiking boots. ... show more

  • Tongues stick out and collect rain and snow
Size: 8.5 Wide Color: Stratus/Canyon Rose
These are very comfortable and warm. They do run small and the wide is barely wide. My feet stay dry and they are light and easy to walk in. But the way the laces slide under the leather logo on the tongue is terrible. If snow is any higher than an inch, the tongues act like a snow scoop. And if it’s actively snowing or raining, the tongue funnels the wet right in! ... show more

  • Shoe size review
I was initially pretty nervous ordering these since there were many reviews about shoe size. These are my first pair of hiking boots and thought they were a pretty great price which is what drew me to them. I’m one of the unfortunate people that depending on the shoe brand and shoe itself depends on my shoe size. It can be anywhere from size 5-6.5 and sometimes even 7 in some cases. I would say I probably purchase more in the 6-6.5 range. That said, I was originally going to purchase these in 7 since I assumed I should not only take into account the shoe size they suggest but also socks and possible foot swelling while hiking. I know my size in EU and it’s always been on the dot as far being correct. I ended up then purchasing these in the EU size, which is 36 or 5 in US. When I received them, I put on the socks I plan on wearing while hiking and slipped them on. I first just wore them while sitting on the couch. They felt tight and my feet felt cramped and painful. I thought it was just because they were a new pair of shoes. For reference, socks I plan on wearing are similar to those hanes white socks that go above the ankle. I took them off for a bit after that and made them a little looser and put them back on to walk my dog on our running trail in my apartment complex. I felt my big toes were digging into the top of the shoe. They were uncomfortable and my feet still felt cramped. My smaller toes were going numb towards the end of the walk, which lasted around 15 mins. I ended up returning the size 5 or EU 36 . I reordered them a half size bigger, so 5.5 or 36.5. I feel this is more comfortable. My toes don’t feel like they’re digging into the top of the shoe. And I can walk around in them. They’re a little uncomfortable, but this feels more like uncomfortable since they’re brand new shoes versus how I felt earlier. Grip on the bottom of the shoe feels solid while walking on dirt/forest floor and over tree roots. The shoe color is true to picture example they’ve given. They seem light weight and the back of the shoe where the ankle is doesn’t feel uncomfortable. My suggestion would be to purchase 1/2 size or even 1 size up from your shoe size to take into account socks and everything. I don’t have any other hiking shoe to compare these too. Would I purchase these again? As of right now, I absolutely would. Next time I plan on purchasing size 6 or EU 37 though. ... show more

  • My favorite hiking boot
Size: 9.5 Wide Color: Elk/Mountain Red
Now that I’ve hiked about 50 miles (80km) in these boots, I can confidently recommend them. Not a loose thread in sight. I’ve hiked through creeks, I’ve submerged them in water AND mud. During a particularly treacherous hike, I had to walk through deep mud that covered the entire boot, laces and all. I used my water bladder from my hiking pack to rinse it, and it was back to looking fine. I didn’t take any special steps to clean or dry them, just kept hiking. They’re definitely waterproof, I’ve walked straight through the creek with no issues. I have a wider foot so I chose a wide and I’m glad I did. I feel like I could easily get another 50-100 miles out of these boots before they show any signs of needing replacement. They’re sturdy, the laces are nice and strong too. They’re not too heavy and they are able to fit wool socks into comfortably when I adjust the laces. I’ve even doubled up socks and made the fit. Still comfortable with my summer socks too. I did put in a Dr. schols insert in them just bc I tend to get plantar fasciitis but with the inserts in these boots I’ve actually never felt foot pain even on my longest adventures. ... show more

  • Worth Every Penny
Size: 8.5 Color: Dark Stone/Cosmos
These are excellent hiking boots. I purchased for 2 weeks I spent in Israel literally walking and hiking everywhere! They are very grippy and water proof! They are also super cute I did get compliments. They are sturdy as long as you tie them correctly and the size was perfect! I would buy these again! Do bear in mind these are hiking shoes not sneakers so they are a bit harder than a soft shoe but use the shoe strings to adjust for comfort. The fact that these are name brand I actually thought the price was really good considering how expensive name brand are and it’s not hype it’s the real deal! ... show more
