I had a pair of Merrill’s for 15 years and I loved them. The outside began to tear and I decided to try another shoe. I wanted one that looked a bit cuter than my last ones. A friend recommended Columbia shoes and I gave it a shot. I work outside every day 8 hours a day with these and I love them! They look good, have good traction, and my feet are comfortable. These boots were PHENOMENAL! I was worried about having to break them in but they really didn’t need it. I feel they are light weight. I hiked the Rockies and up to Gem Lake in CO and my feet did not hurt. While in the Rockies it was very snowy conditions and these boots paired with wool socks my feet did not get cold at all! Great product, I wore these on my trip to Alaska with lots of rain and walking and hiking. I had only wore them one time for a day to break them in and when I was on my trip they were comfortable, waterproof, and had good traction no slips! The only thing is I did not like the insoles so much a little too flat but I replaced them with some other ones I like and it was much better. Also they look super cute and held up in 8 hours of rain hiking and I was able to use them again the next day. ... show more

Excellent shoe! Waterproof-check. Comfortable-check. Easy to clean-check. I couldn’t ask for more in a shoe. I wear them to work in the yard/mud. The mud easy sprays off the tread. I have worn them for 8+ hours! I do wear wool socks with them and my feet sweat a bit due to the waterproofing so airing out is necessary after a long day. These are very good shoes. They are wide but not quite wide enough for me. It has taken quite some time to break in. Why? They are waterproof so they do not have a ton of give in them. They have been great in snow and soggy ground with all the flooding. They are solid on ground that is uneven.

These are comfiest hiking shoes I have ever worn! i have high arches and the arch support was great. I wore them most of the day after and my feet were not sore like they usually are.
