I purchased these Columbia Strata in Titanium Grey Steel/Sage Leaf ( on the right ) a few months after getting them the in Stone Green/Sunstone color ( on the left.) As an avid hiker, I need hiking boots that are comfortable, breathable with the right grip for whatever terrain I am on - as well as water resistance. The Strata offer all of these things and more. I wore the first pair in 80 ° weather in September and hiked 7 miles. My feet stayed dry and weren’t sweaty. My feet were comfortable the entire time. These hikers don’t require breaking in, they’re comfortable right out of the box. I sized up 1/2 size for colder months when wearing thicker socks and had no problem in the late summer - early fall with thinner socks. The toe box is generous and my toes aren’t squished. The laces stay tied. I switch up between these 2 pair and they’re the most comfortable hikers I’ve ever owned. Don’t sleep on these. They’re high quality, stitched well, lightweight and breathable with real leather/suede. They’re like clouds! The colors are cool, too. The Stone Green/Sunstone are loud and proud! Love the details and bright laces- fuschia with orange. The Titanium Grey Steel/Sage Leaf have nice subtle bright sage in the heel pull and laces and Logo. They’re definitely grey steel. Excellent buy! The quality of this boot is great, especially for the price. I bought these to replace Sorel boots that had too much of a sole. I ordered my usual sneaker size and was happy with the fit, with relatively thick hiking socks. I spent a week in Iceland and was very comfortable hiking on and through glaciers and climbing up to waterfalls in these boots. Amazingly, my feet remained entirely DRY…even when we had to walk through puddles in the dark inside a glacier tunnel! I probably wore these 7am to 9pm five days straight and I never had that “get me outta these boots!” Feeling. My arches never ached and my toes did not feel pinched. My ankles felt well supported and it was easy to fit crampons onto these soles for glacier hiking. They have a great fit, adjustable with a great lacing pattern and they are lightweight- just trying to find something to use in the summer when my WP leather boots are too heavy. No break in period, very comfortable and good ankle support. I just changed the insoles for a pair of DR Shools, for more cushion and arch support, but that’s just personal preference.

Great! Used for hikes in hot weather (Angel’s Landing, 112 degrees, steep, and a ton of rocks and switchbacks) and also cold environments (Iceland, wet, muddy). Also just at parks around home. Feet never felt too hot or too cold, or wet. I did wear with hiking socks, and felt ventilation was just fine. Also the grip was good! Have not used in winter yet. I think I did spray a waterproofing spray on them just in case, though! Also they are comfortable- wore all day and they were great! ... show more
