I was worried when purchasing the lighter color, because I thought a bunch of dirt would show, but they are surprisingly easy to clean, and honestly, not much dirt or dust kicked up on them in the first place. I was able to wipe off anything non-liquid with my hand and the rest came off with some water and a towel. The shoes took some breaking in... My first hike with them hurt one of my ankles a bit, but it was hot out, so I didn't have thick socks on. They were fine after that first time, but probably not great for summer/spring use. They are super thick on the bottom too, so you can't really grip or feel the earth like you would with a smaller hiking shoe, but I love them! They definitely stopped me from slipping on some rocks and whatnot. They are just as pictured. Great for horseback riding too! ... show more

Absolutely satisfied with these hiking boots. I just returned home from a 12 day hiking trip to National Parks and wore these boots all day, every day. I absolutely love these boots. I have a weak ankle and every now and then heel pain and while wearing these boots going hiking for 3 days my ankle did not hurt at all and i did not experience any heel pain which is what i was very worried about with the trip. it has great cushion and support and they are also comfortable. This shoe was exactly what I needed as a beginning hiker. I'm a runner so having hiking shoes is new to me and I knew I needed something to protect my ankles. This shoe was exactly it, I took them on a short mountain hike to break them in and realized I needed to wear two pairs of socks. I did not expect to love these boots as much as I do. First, the color selection is great. Second, I didn’t know none of my other shoes fit me - as in these boots are the ultimate fit. Right now I have an ingrown toenail and I’ve worn these boots twice outside (in the rain) to do some yard work. I forgot I had an ingrown toenail.
