I’ve been wearing these hiking boots for the past few months on trails and around town, and they were very comfortable from the start. The break-in period was non-existent (they were ready to wear right out of the box), and they provide excellent support for long walks. The grip is solid on both dry and wet terrain, and the boots feel durable enough to handle regular use. The waterproofing is excellent and my feet stayed completely dry, even when crossing a river! The boots are lightweight enough to wear for all day wear, but for longer hikes they may become a bit heavy feeling. I love these shoes. Great for winter hiking-true toi size.Great quality.I usually buy much more expensive hikers but wow am I impressed! Feel great after a 4 hour hike.Not much snow to rate them yest, nor in really cold weather (yet) but that's the plan.

After looking through all the reviews on women's hiking boots, I chose these for a trip I have coming up this summer. I thiught I'd have to break these in... NOPE. I have had a knee replacement last year, a hip replacement 10 years ago, a broken foot last year and have back issues so I have a little "swagger" when I walk. I was on my feet all day in Hokas and put these on for errands...wow! These were supportive and super comfortable! They're sturdy yet lightweight. I wear a women's 12 so I usually have to buy men's shoes and I was elated to find the "girly" colors too! I got the light vanilla with pink laces and I adore them! My feet are happy for these too! Slip resistant and provide excellent ankle support. They stayed tied and didn't slip on my foot at all! No pincjong on the toe so the toe box is perfect width and the entire shoe is not too big and not too small! I love these! ... show more

I am very impressed with the Columbia Women’s Newton Ridge Plus Amped boots. True to size. Right out of the box they were incredibly comfortable, with no break in period needed. The cushioning and support make them easy to wear for long walks, hikes, or all day errands without foot fatigue. The traction feels stable and secure on different surfaces, and the boots are lightweight while still feeling durable and well made. They provide great support without feeling stiff or heavy. For the quality, these boots are an excellent value for the money. They perform like much more expensive hiking boots while still being stylish enough for everyday wear. I’ve been using these hiking boots (this is my second pair of boots) for several outings, and overall they have performed very well. They feel sturdy and well made, and the materials seem durable. From the first use, they provided good support and comfort without causing discomfort or pressure points. The traction is reliable on different types of terrain, and they offer good stability while walking on uneven surfaces. I also appreciate the fit, which feels secure without being too tight.     • Great boots! They come in Wide!!
My child’s class has had a field trip to a nature preserve every year so far, and my old generic hiking boots from a big box store were not cutting it, as they didn’t come in wide so I had to size up, which of course ended up giving my blisters and not supporting my ankles well.i was so happy to find real hiking boots that come in women’s wide! These fit a lot like New Balance. I wear a 9.5 Wide in Brooks and a 9 Wide in New Balance, and the 9 Wide in these boots fit perfectly, still with enough room for proper hiking socks. I am not a hiker (lifelong ankle problems), but these are super useful to have. I wear them for any time I get to do hiking type activities, but also just for errands etc when it’s raining and I don’t want to deal with wet socks from wearing running shoes. I find these have good ankle support, and the footbed is removable so I can put my trusty Superfeet Berry inserts in them. The platform of these boots is wide enough and solid enough to give me great arch support with my inserts. They are a bit stiff but in a good way—they’re supportive. I didn’t not find them uncomfortably stiff even when brand new. I do like to feel support for my feet and ankles though—I find the minimal shoe trend horrifying. I have not had any issues with the soles slipping, and I wear them often when it’s wet out. Not sure how they would perform in icy conditions, but I don’t think they’re made for that. They keep my feet cool enough in the summer and fall, despite being full leather. I purchased them on sale for about sixty bucks and feel they were a great value. I ordered these boots last min before a winter trip. Needed something waterproof and comfortable for a lot of walking. I was able to wear right out of the box. Kept my feet warm and dry the whole trip. Very durable and now my favorite shoe. Fit true to size
