I have been hiking for 10+ years, never bought hiking boots until this year. I canโt believe it took me this long. I wore these boots hiking in the smoky mountains national park, in the rain. They did great, my feet did not get wet, despite having to walk through a lot of puddles and mud. Very good support, no blisters or need to break them in ahead of time. Very happy with their functionality and appearance. I saw numerous people with boots like mine, or a different color on the trails. I cannot recommend these more. And they were even very affordable. I wear between eight and 8.5, I ordered the 8.5 in case I ever needed to wear with two pairs of socks. Although I can wear them with two pairs of socks, the 8 1/2 was fine. Sometimes my feet are a little bit wide, but the wide was not needed for me.

I had trimalleolar left ankle fracture repair two years ago. Don't break your ankle!!! I still wear an Aircast brace most days. I completed PT ect . But nerve damage and discomfort continue. I have two shoes I can wear without brace. I must wear compression sock still but Merrell plastic shoes, Brook's Running shoes and these hiking boots are the ONLY shoes that don't cause pain. I have tried EVERYTHING! These boots were purchased 1/2 size up as I am going to see son in NM. No break in period needed. I bought (and returned) 5 different boots prior from Amazon. These Columbia boots are the perfect support for my ankle without putting pressure on hardware in ankle. Thank you Columbia! SO THANKFUL!

I bought these to wear on my first BSA Backpacking Trip. It had rained and it was muddy. Terrain was not flat, and we walked about 10 miles with 30+ lbs packs on our backs. My feet did not hurt at all. Did not rub me the wrong way, did not need blister balm. My feet were not sweaty. I wear a size 8.5N shoe, so finding shoes that fit has always been a thing. And, after I got home with all of the mud, they rinsed off mostly clean (the mud was red). And, they are my favorite color! Best online buy for shoes EVER!

I bought these boots to wear on our trip to Scotland. More expensive brands were suggested but I decided to go with a brand that I knew. The main selling point was the claim to be 'waterproof', since we were told that with the constant moisture and rain, along with the rough terrain of the region, I needed something that could keep my feet dry and allow me to walk on wet cobblestones and rocks without slipping. These boots were remarkable! They were comfortable with a minimum of break-in and kept my feet dry despite inches deep rushing water. I would recommend them to anyone in need of affordable footwear in inclement weather.

When i got these boots I immediately tried them on, they were very comfortable and fit perfect. The toe area has a lot of room to move your toes. I got a size 8 my normal size. I like a thin sock . My first time out on the trail which is pretty rocky and dirt, ... the boots grabbed the rocks as I was climbing. ,

Other reviewers said to size up. I normally fit in shoes between 10-11 depending on the brand, so I ordered 10, 10.5, and 11 with the intention of returning whatever options didn't fit best. The 10.5 felt perfect with thick socks, however I didn't plan to wear thick socks on my hikes, so I kept the 10. They weren't the comfiest, but I hiked a lot and never got blisters or sore feet. I think my feet would've slid around too much in the 10.5. This is my first pair of hiking boots ever so I wasn't sure what to look for, but I am overall happy with these. I ordered this color thinking it looked black in the picture, but they are definitely not black. They're like a dusty gray-ish purple and the details are like a salmon color. A pretty color, but not what I was expecting/wanting.

These fit great, haven't worn them on a hike yet, but wore them to work all day to break them in and see how they felt. I wear a 7 1/2 Wide and have flat feet. With thinner socks and lightweight inserts I think they will be perfect. A warning for summer hikers though, if you wear these with wool socks they are extremely warm. The ankle support is good.
