It took me 5 pairs before I finally got the right size for these. Most Columbia boots run small and narrow. I know this because I own two different types of Columbia snow boots. They are the only brand I wear for snow/winter for the last 20 - 30 years. I bought these assuming they would also run small, big mistake. If you buy the right size, when you put these on, you won’t want to take them off because they are that comfortable. I normally wear 9-9.5 medium width shoes. I purchased a 10 wide, a half size up from my usual shoe size range, to allow for my feet to have plenty of room with hiking socks and because the toes are on my right feet do not lay flat like my left foot. Your toes should not feel squished in any shoe. I got wide because Columbia are usually on the narrow side. My left foot is a medium width (almost narrow) and my right foot is medium width (almost wide). I also purchased Columbia hiking socks which feel amazing in these boots. Quarry is a very pretty grey color with black, light grey and blue accents. Such a pretty color combination. I will be wearing these to walk our dog on the trails in our neighborhood, which I do daily and are often swampy and even flooded in some areas. I was previously using my Brooks Ghost sneakers but too often coming home with mud, wet socks and saturated shoes. We mostly do trails but also mix in some sidewalk walking, so I needed a shoe that would be good on both. I will come back to update my review should they not work well. Super excited to wear them tomorrow on our morning walk through the woods. Update: 2/20/23 I wore these yesterday for a 3 mile walk/hike through trails and on sidewalks walking a dog. They felt great while walking. I did notice that when I took them off, that my one hammer toe had redness from the top of the boots while walking but I never felt this while on the walk. A few hours later and my left knee has some strange pain while going up or down stairs. Next thing I noticed was some lower back pain and pain at the balls of both feet when I woke up this morning. Not sure that I will be wearing these often, maybe only on rainy days, but even then, I am not sure that the pain is worth it. I do have psoriatic arthritis in my knees but this pain is different, so I must have aggravated my knee somehow while wearing these hiking shoes. Debating on returning them because my brooks sneakers work great but I was specifically looking for waterproof and ankle support while on the trails. Update: 2/28/23 I have worn these again and had success, no knee or back pain afterward. Not my favorite shoe for walking our dog on sidewalks and not as comfortable as my Brooks but they are waterproof and are saving me in the trails right now.

These boots are really nice. They really grab the ground well so you don't slip, the red is very contrasting to the black, and they are comfortable. I did get a blister on my pinky toe the 1st 2 days I wore them but that was because I did not break them in slowly. I went right into two 9 hour days with them. The soul is comfortable and I like how they lace up high so they stabilize the ankle if you wanted. They are also waterproof And warm enough for the Winter but not too warm. They fit me the same as my other Columbia boots so I'd say the size is true to fit.

I love everything about this boot....very very comfortable...and VERY durable! i really put these to the test on my first trip out. We camped and hiked for 5 days...it was very wet weather..i tromped through water and mud with these and kept my feet perfectly dry. We hiked through a forest burn area and waded through waist deep thick brush that was burnt...destroyed my jeans lol my boots were covered in scratches and soot i thought i ruined them. i wiped them off with a damp cloth and they literally looked like when i first put them on. I LOVE LOVE THESE BOOTS‼️‼️‼️. I am not a hiker per say BUT I walk 2 miles everyday and I live in the Northern States. We get a lot of snow and these boots grip the ice and snow like I am wearing ice cleats!! It is so great not to be falling on my butt, although at 70 yrs young I think it has toughened this old body (😝😂)! I have bought a lot of different brands and finally found a good one!!! Comfy right out of the box with my orthotics! There isn’t much arch support but since they fit well with my podiatrist orthotics they are fine. I ordered a half size larger and have had them out on a couple of hikes. So far the downhill trails are not making my toes jam into the toes of the shoes which was a problem with my other hiking shoes.

These shoes are more than I expected them to be! I ordered my normal size, 8.5 and they are a true fit and extremely comfortable! As soon as I put them on, I felt like I was ready to get outside and out them to use. The grips on the bottom feel great.

I have worn these boots a handful of times and over a variety of terrain. The do not give blisters and had a very quick break in time. Today I tested them out in water crossings. Water proof until fully sumerged and did not loose traction on slippery rocks. I highly recommend.

Work at a whole sale greenhouse where I walk or bike up to 5 miles a day. I am a male that liked the black and red colored boots and the price. I wear 10.5 so got the size 12. they fit good and my feet don't hurt after work. They withstand mud, water and anything else you might find on a large farm. Would buy again.
