  • Decent shoe.
Size: 8.5 Wide Color: Elk/River Blue
Bought these last minute for a trip to the mountains that I was going on, and I am so glad that I did. They are very comfortable, so comfortable in fact that I now wear them for my daily walks or even when I go out if I know it's going to be a long day of running errands. The ankle support is decent and it handles getting wet pretty well. So far I am very happy with my purchase. The size was good too, I'm an 8.5, feet a kind of wide, and that's the size I bought and it fit great. ... show more

  • Cute Enough for Town, Tough Enough for the Trail (and a Dirt Bike)
Size: 5.5 Color: Charcoal/Scorched Coral
I bought the Columbia Women’s Newton Ridge Plus Hiking Boots for a recent trip to the mountains, and let me tell you—they understood the assignment. Not only did these boots carry me up rocky trails like a mountain goat with a mortgage, but they also pulled double duty as my motorcycle boots while riding my dirt bike. Yep. These cute little hikers took on the trail and the throttle, and came out looking like champs. First off: comfort. I wore them all day—hiking, riding, walking around camp—and didn’t get a single blister. My feet felt supported, happy, and weirdly smug about my choice in footwear. Durability? Check. I scuffed them against rocks, got them muddy, accidentally kicked my bike’s footpeg more times than I care to admit... and they still look great. These boots are tanks in disguise. Style-wise, they’re actually really cute. I got compliments at a gas station. A gas station. That’s when you know you’re onto something. They look good with leggings, jeans, or your average dirt-streaked trail pants. And for the price? Honestly, these are a steal. They feel like boots that should cost twice as much but somehow don’t. A rare win for both my feet and my wallet. If you're on the fence—hop off and lace these up. Whether you're climbing mountains or revving engines, these boots can handle it. And look good doing it. ... show more

  • Very comfortable, lightweight boot
Size: 6.5 Color: Black/Chalk
Very comfortable boots! True to size, easy on & off. I wear them daily for ankle support and own several colors. They are lightweight & easy to walk all day! I love the pop of color shoestrings makes them look 😎

  • Comfortable, but not exceptionally durable
Size: 9 Color: Black/Chalk
I purchased these hiking boots for a trip to the PNW. Typically, I am more of a Merrell hiking shoe kind of gal, but I decided to give these a whirl. They were on sale (I think $60-$70) and I feel that price is right on for the quality and fit. They took me from hiking at Mt. Rainier National Park, to Oregon's coastal beaches to hiking in the Redwoods. For comfort I would give them a 9/10. They fit true to size and give great ankle support. For durability/quality, that remains to be seen - but I'll go ahead and give them a 6/10, just based on the condition that they are after one trip. On my trip I did do a fair amount of rough, strenuous hiking, but usually I can get my hiking shoes to last several seasons. I think this pair might last one more hiking trip before they need to be retired. There are some chunks of rubber that have come out of the bottoms already and I can see where the rubber is starting to separate from the shoe in a couple spots. Overall, they are certainly comfortable, and nice hiking boots, but I don't think the quality is that of other brands (such as Merrell), so I won't get as much use out of them. It's probably best to wait until they're on sale to purchase. ... show more

  • Great hiking/walking shoes.
Size: 11 Color: Quarry/Cool Wave
Wore these boots on a family vacation. We hiked Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Additionally, we visited and hiked Red Slot Canyons. For 4 days, I wore and walked in those boots. My feet never hurt. They were supportive for both ankle and feet. They are waterproof, I walked in waters just below ankle level and my socks/feet were dry. They are light and comfortable. They also looked nice/stylish. I wore them with both hiking pants and hiking shorts. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • A most excellent pair of hiking boots!
Size: 8.5 Wide Color: Elk/River Blue
As a woman with wide feet I have a terrible time finding shoes and did not have high hopes these would fit. They are AWESOME! I normally wear an 8.5 wide so that is what I ordered. I was truly excited to find these boots sturdy AND comfortable right out of the box! These are made really well, with attention to detail I don’t always see. And the color is great too!! Excellent hiking boot! They are also lighter weight than I expected while being this sturdy. Liked them well enough I bought the same boot in another color for variety! ... show more

  • Better than I expected
In all honesty, I bought these boots because it was Prime Day and the price was right. I like Columbia jackets, but probably would have replaced my old boots with a different tried-and-true hiking shoe brand if the price on these hadn’t been so good at the time. I checked some reviews here and elsewhere and saw that lots of people were happy with these. I wore them on one intermediate local hike to break them in, but they surprisingly didn’t need any real breaking in. They were good to go right away. I ended up wearing them on a week-long family trip to Iceland where we did a ton of hiking and walking. They were comfortable, durable, and held up very well on the rocky terrain and wet weather (my feet stayed completely dry!). I definitely jammed my toe on a few rocks, but didn’t feel a thing in these shoes - they kept my feet very protected. Best of all, they wore well from the remote volcanic areas of Iceland with my athletic wear, to the streets of Reykjavik with a pair of jeans and a sweater. Also, I have flat feet with a very strong pronation (see photo), and my feet and ankles didn’t tire out in these boots at all. If I’d had the time, I would have added some inserts for arch support (and will do so for the next hike), but I was pleasantly surprised at how well these were able to support my poorly designed feet without them. For those wondering about sizing, I typically wear a size 7.5 to 8, depending on the shoe. I got these in 8 and they fit perfectly. I was worried because with hiking socks, it felt like my big toe might be too close to the front of the boot, but it turned out to be totally fine and no issues at all. My toes never slid or hit the front. ... show more
