  • Great value
This tent is fantastic. We used it the first time in October. It was in the middle of a rain storm, and the tent stay completely dry. It was very easy to set up and it is HUGE.

  • Perfect for a family of four
Style: 4 Person
Bought this for my wife and two kids, used it all summer and it held great up in rain, sun, heat, and cold. A breeze to set up, lots of great quality of life features like a shelf above the door, nice and tall on the inside because of the unique pole shape. The bottom is a tough and durable thick tarp that comes up along the edges. Only thing to remember is that it doesn't have a cover on the outside door, so you'll have to keep everything inside your tent. Also, the carrying case is bigger than it needs to be. You can fold it up nice and compact, but the tent will slosh around in the satchel. It's maybe a bit heavy for backpacking but not too bad either. ... show more

  • Good Space For 4, Not 6. 3-Season Tent. Not Great For Temps Below 40° F. Great Value At $79.99...
This review is for the 6-person tent. A very good value at $79.99. First of all, if you want to get 6 average-sized adults in this 6-person tent, be prepared to get cozy. You'll get up-close and personal with your family/friends. If you do squeeze in 6 people, you'll have almost no room for gear and stuff. To me, this is more like a 4-person tent. Four adults and gear will fit in reasonable comfort. I used it with two people on two cots (Timber Ridge Quick Set-Up Folding Cot, 75"L x 26"W), one on each side. There was enough room at the head of the cot for a small nightstand. In the center between the two cots, there was room for two chairs, small/medium table(s), gear, and other stuff. It's definitely a 3-season tent (spring, summer, fall). It's not suited for really cold weather, especially when it's windy. I used it when the low got down to about 40° F +/-. In my estimation, that's about the limit that the tent can handle without it getting too uncomfortable inside. There was no wind to speak of that blew cold air into the tent from the large eave openings below the rainfly. Had there been wind, that unwanted airflow + windchill would've made it very uncomfortable inside... Would you want your bedroom windows at home to be open on a cold, windy night? What's the point of shelter (the tent) if not TO SHELTER you from the elements, like rain/snow and WIND? Without the rainfly and with both the door and the window "covered," 40% to 45% of the outer surface (excluding floor) is "no-see-um" mesh. That's great in warm/hot weather, but terrible in cold/freezing weather. The rainfly covers almost all of the left and right walls, save for about 6"to 8" from the bottom of the bathtub floor, but the front and back walls do NOT have similar coverage. That lack of coverage leaves large eave openings that create the wind-related issues described above. With the pole for the rainfly attached from front to back, there's a brim (eave) that's created in front above the door and in back above the window. These eaves provide some protection from rain, but it mostly diverts water running off the rainfly from dripping on the front and back walls. If it's raining sideways toward the door wall or window wall, you get almost no protection from the rainfly. A full length rainfly that can double to create a vestibule would afford much better rain protection and versatility. The major issue with this tent in cold weather is that the rainfly rests on the main tent poles and above the tent fabric. That airspace between the rainfly and the tent fabric allows cold air to enter from the large eave opening and circulate around and into the tent. Basically, it works like a soffit. Great in the summer in venting out hot air and reducing condensation, but terrible in the winter by allowing warm air to escape and cold air to rush in. *All of these tents (3/4/6/8-person) have the same basic construction with the rainfly brims/eaves on the front and back, so every tent has the same cold weather issue.* The rainfly has a 1,500 mm waterproof rating. That's good, but nothing to write home about. (The tent fabric only has an 800 mm rating, which is very modest. Why only 800 mm?) Fortunately, it didn't rain on my trip so I can't speak to how well, or poorly, it performs in keeping the inside dry. * Some reviewers have indicated that they experienced leakages during rain. To be safe, you may want to spray the rainfly/tent with a water repellency product (not inexpensive) from Scotchgard. You and I SHOULD NOT have to pay for a spray to protect something that already should be protected, but not doing so could ruin your next camping trip, so just bite the bullet and do it. I DISLIKE how the door zippers are set up. The main (top) zipper starts from the lower-right corner and unzips going up. The bottom zipper starts from the same corner and unzips to the left. They're not on one continuous zipper track. Neither zipper can go past the lower-right corner. This junction between the top and bottom zipper sliders creates a small gap that becomes an entry point for rain water. Not good. I prefer a door with a two-way zipper---a slider at each end that unzips all the way to the other end and enables me to open/close the door completely using either zipper. There's a magnet at the bottom-right corner to fasten the unzipped door flap. Columbia gets an "A" for the idea, but a "D" for execution. Just one magnet? It's not enough. There should be 3 or 4 more for the top and 1 or 2 more for the bottom to more effectively "seal" the door to prevent gaps for flying insects, mosquitoes in particular, from invading. The tent does have a couple of useful and convenient features: a hook on the ceiling for hanging a lantern (NO GAS LANTERNS) and a widthwise mesh pocket above the window. However, if it's raining, I would not place any item that presses/rubs against the inner tent wall because surface tension/capillary action may induce water penetration. (Remember the old tents of yesteryear---if you're younger than 40, maybe not. When you touched the wall on the inside when it was wet on the outside, that spot starts to leak. Same process. Just not as sensitive and susceptible because of newer, better material.) The tent has a port for a cord from a generator or battery, but I have no use for it. The 72" height is great for those of us who are less than 6' tall. No more crouching. All told, I'm happy with the tent, even with its shortcomings. As I pointed out, it could be improved, but it's still good as-is. At $79.99, it was a great value. I would buy it again, and I would recommend it. BTW, I've seen this same 6-person tent being advertised on some SUSPICIOUS, NEVER-HEARD-OF websites for $59.99. Caveat emptor. Don't fall for it. ... show more

  • Good quality and roomy
Style: 4 Person
This tent was pretty easy to assemble, my sixteen year old daughter was able to put it together in about twenty minutes, just by herself, the inside of the tent has lots of room, as I was able to fit a queen air mattress inside and still have some space around it, the fabric material of the tent is very string and the rain fly keeps moisture out of the tent very well, this is a perfect companion for you cramping adventures. • Nice tent at the right price!
Style: 4 Person
Bought this for a weekend camping trip and it was great in the rain and also set up early. My only complaint is that it only has one door, so if sharing the tent, there is only one way in and out. But, you can't complain about the price. Have now taken it on 2 camping trips and it's holding up really well. Would definitely recommend this product to anyone. ... show more

  • Easy Set-Up, Waterproof
The set-up was a breeze, two poles to insert, canopy over the top and click it into the bottom portion of the tent, place the stakes into the ground and tie the tent down. 5-10 minutes to set-up for two people. The reason I wanted to write the review is how water resistant it is. It was raining when we put the tent up around 7PM and it continuously rained until 2AM, it came down hard at times. I was worried that it will start leaking at any point and kept checking the tent for leaks. Not a single leak! Very pleased with how it held up during the 5 hours of rain (came down hard at times). Purchased a 6 person tent and it had plenty of room for two people with decent sized sleeping pads and room for the gear (actually had room for 2 beach chairs inside during the rain storm). Taking the tent apart was just as simple as putting it together and I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the bag is actually big enough for the tent when it is not factory rolled-up. 3 night 3 1/2 day stay, rained on two occasions, not a single leak and the thing still looks brand new. I recommend this tent and would definitely buy it again. ... show more

  • It’s a tent
Sets up easy, takes back down no problem and actually fits back into bag. Was wet when we camped and stayed dry inside. Have had many many tents Only used this one once so far. But seems as though it should hold up for a few trips.
