it's made of a very thick, almost stiff material, and had a high quality feel to it. The bag looks full even when I wear it empty due to the thickness of the padding. I took it to the store on an 88 F day, packed a few ice cream and cold drinks inside, and brought them home on the bus, which involved me standing and walking outside in the sun on this very hot day for about 20 minutes, and when I got home the ice cream was just as cold as when I bought it. It also fits more than it looks like when you look inside the bag; the padding is very thick and makes the inside look cramped, but it could easily fit 2 boxes of drumsticks (the ice cream) and 4 20 oz bottles of soda at the same time with room to spare. I have not tested the waterproofing because I bought it so I could buy frozen food at the store without worrying about it melting on the bus, so I don't intend on filling it with ice. ... show more

I looked at a lot of coolers before landing on this one because we own coolers that are either too big or too little. I wanted one with a large capacity that we could use not only when traveling but just going over to a friend's house and this one is a great size. I didn't test the theory but I think it would hold at least 12 cans with room to spare. The upright design allows this cooler to fit perfectly behind the driver's seat when traveling to keep it within reach without taking up too much space. It holds a great amount of items and has tons of exterior pockets. On our last beach trip, I was not only able to fill it with plenty of drinks and snacks but also sunscreen, bug spray, coozies, and my daughter's medical bag. Keeps everything cool and even jam packed isn't too heavy. And if you don't want to wear it on your back it has a top carry handle. I noticed some complained about leaks--I use ice packs so I didn't have any problems with leakage. Overall this cooler ticked all the boxes for me and I am very happy with the purchase, I consider it a great buy for the money. ... show more

Got this cooler because I wanted something my daughters could take in the dug out that wouldn’t leak. It’s been perfect. It keeps ice on the hottest of days for at least 4 hours which is far less than they say but it also gets opened quite a bit being in a dugout at a ball park that’s 90 degrees plus all day. I can put 16 bottles of water and ice in the cooler and it’s perfect size for that. ... show more

This is soft sided but still has shape to it. The insulation is great for a hot day on the beach/boat. It kept waters and snacks cool with 2 medium sized ice packs. The extra pockets and padded straps are great.
