This was affordable, fits well, washes easy, appears to be good quality (time will tell), and light weight. Looks decent, but I wouldn't say it looks GOOD. I'm sincere when I say this... I think I can tell the difference with the Omni-Heat technology. I feel that the jacket is preventing heat from escaping just like most jackets, but I get a very subtle sensation that heat is hitting me from the exterior which I believe is the Omni-Heat material reflecting the heat back at me. To be clear, I ONLY FEEL A VERY SUBTLE SENSATION. I suspect most people may not feel it... but it's there. I recommend this jacket especially if you layer correctly. ... show more

My husband is 6’4” with long arms. This fit him perfectly without having to order a size Tall jacket. Xl. He took this on a trip to nyc this past week in the frigid temperatures of 8 degrees minimum. Layering made it warm and bearable while waiting in line to get into The Daily Show and Late Night with Stephen Colbert. Love the jacket. Nice and warm. Love the reflective silver lining. Good zipper quality. Packs down and compresses nicely. Survives the washing machine and dryer beautifully. Good zipper quality. Fits well under another very large jacket if you want to visit Antarctica. Excellent to pack and take with you as it compresses nicely. I love how long the sleeves are. Does not have a hood or an option for a hood. The neck area is a bit large, but it’s nice not to feel claustrophobic in your jacket. The zipper does not have an outside flap to keep wind out.     • A good Fall-mild Winter jacket.

Let me start by saying I like this jacket. However, there are some things I wish I had known before I ordered it. I would say this is a good Fall - mild Winter jacket. I can wear it with just a long sleeve shirt and be comfortable in the 40s. In the 30s I need to add a sweater or sweatshirt. I haven’t tried it in the 20s yet, but I strongly suspect I’ll need still another layer. The reflective inner lining does a fair job of keeping body heat in. The jacket seems pretty true to sit and roomy enough to easily allow for the added sweater underneath. Despite its light weight, it blocks wind well. The jacket appears well made. I originally wanted something a bit warmer, but here in the Deep South, it will work for most winter days, so I’m happy with it. ... show more

I've always been a fan of Columbia jackets and outwear and this one is no exception. In fact, it's been my tried-and-true go-to for many years. I recently lost some weight and went down a couple sizes so it was time to buy a new one. Their quality hasn't changed and it's nice to see that they stick with what works. I've never had any threads come out or had any snags on the fabric. Very well insulated without being too heavy. I wouldn't call it lightweight necessarily but it's not their heaviest offering for sure. Very comfortable to wear during fall and winter. I'm in the south so winters aren't usually too rough. However, I've worn this jacket to Chicago in the fall and even with the wind, it holds up well. The fit is true to size and that's been the case through several of these that I've owned. ... show more
