These boots look really good and are very comfortable out of the box. Like some other reviewers I usually get gel insoles for new boots but not this time. The suede upper is very pliable so no breaking in period required and the rubber sole has serious tread, even around edges. It's tacky and grippy to the touch. For the $75 I paid I doubt I can find a nicer pair of boots. Looks, instant comfort....now the longevity test. But they look and feel well-constructed so I have a good feeling I'll get much more than my money's worth here. Basically a mid-hi athletic shoe married to a boot. I went with the Columbia boots because I have had good luck with their products. The new boots fit great. You can cinch them as tight as you like or as loose as you like. Columbia is one of my favorite brands so I got excited when I saw these. I needed a pair of boots for the winter and I normally wear 11.5 (Adidas NMD for reference) and these fit exactly as expected. They are warm and the padding makes my feet feel secure while wearing them. They don't slip around and are snug. They look sharp as hell too with the red laces. The tread underneath is thick and does not slip at all, and my feet don't overheat or sweat while wearing them. Best of all these are waterproof and work great in rain or snow and I can't find better boots for $75! ... show more

Perfect fit. Extremely comfortable from the first wear. Slipped them on for the first time and head out to the Pacific Crest Trail in Snoqualamie pass, WA. No blisters or foot pains on a several mile hike in new boots. Treading through several feet of snow, mostly packed. My feet were dry, warm, and comfortable for the entirety of the hike. Huge fan of these boots and my girlfriend is also ordering a pair as I write this review. These were purchased for my son. He said they are the best pair of boots he’s ever had, they didn’t hurt his feet at all (he was in an auto accident 3 years ago and broke his right foot. It has bothered him ever since) These required no breaking in and were so comfortable. His only issue was that every time he wore them he got electric shocks when he touched any object. Columbia had never heard of the issue before, nor had Amazon. We have returned them to try another pair. We’re hoping the shock issue was a one off with that specific pair.
