  • Seems Accurate
This level has some minor quirks, but seems to work OK. The first quirk I found was that the battery cover is screwed in rather than a simple clipped in cover. This requires a small Phillips screwdriver to open. I would be unhappy if I were on a job site and the batteries died, and I didn't have a small Phillips screwdriver with me. The second quirk was that after putting the batteries in and turning it on, the display read "Erro" (upside down). The instructions said that this is displayed if the level is more than 5 degrees from horizontal when calibrating. This was partly true - it was more than 5 degrees from horizontal when I turned it on, but I hadn't tried to calibrate it. So I then put it on a horizontal surface and turned it on, and it worked like a champ, and now I can turn it on at any angle and it works fine. The last quirk is actually a feature. It has some strong magnets inside running along the base. This is great if you are putting the level on something steel to hold it in place, but it also attracts some items like screwdrivers and batteries that happen to be laying close by the level. Most of my work involves wood, so the magnetic feature doesn't mean much to me. None of these quirks are enough to knock off a star from the rating, but they are things a prospective buyer should be made aware of. This level comes with a nice zippered cloth case and 2 alkaline AAA batteries. It has 2 bubble levels as a backup in case the batteries die. Accuracy seems fine for any work that I would do with this level (primarily woodworking, hanging pictures, and other household applications). The ends are hard rubber, and the extruded aluminum center part has machining marks on the top and bottom which help when gripping it so it isn't slippery. The case isn't padded, which I wouldn't expect at this price point, and care should be taken to not drop this (or any) level. ... show more

  • A handy tool that I never knew I needed, until I needed it.
I never imagined a need for a digital level and then we decided to measure the angles on our Adirondack chairs. This is darn near impossible without one. The level itself measures: 15-¾” long x 2-½” tall and 1-1/16” deep. It appears to be made of Aluminum with plastic inserts. The top surface is machined with a ribbed surface, the bottom has ribbing on the outside edge with an V-groove inset in the middle. This groove is magnetic. The outside edges are rubberized plastic rounded to discourage their use in measuring. There are two traditional spirit levels, one on the long end, the other perpendicular and inset. Horizontal one has triple lines, Vertical one has double lines. It comes in a nice black bag, zippered on one of the narrow ends. It had a handle on the long end. Controls on the level are: **** On/Off/Beep **** Zero **** Mode: Angle, Slope, In/Ft, mm/M **** Hold You get a visual sense of which direction the measurement is from horizontal with a graphical indicator on the display and an arrow. This comes in handy when you are close to zero. The scary thing is now using it on many surfaces, I identified as level, which now are no longer. They are less than 1 degree, but now I know. I didn’t realize what the hold was for until I used it. It keeps the reading in case the level is in an area you can’t see. This way you can press the hold and then read it. The zero allows you to get a relative angle from something. Had I played with that ahead of time, I could have saved myself some math. Overall it’s a handy tool that I never knew I needed, until I needed it. ... show more

  • Good Construction Feels Solid
This is a nice looking level with many features a standard level does not have. The LCD display is backlit which insures you may see display in lowlight conditions. You may choose degree or percent slope for checking the level. Battery compartment is o-ringed to keep out water. The carrying bag is off good quality and has 2 inches of free space to place some spare batteries in with the level. It works great and a feature I like is the leve can tell if you are flat at 0 degrees or 90 degrees resting on vertical surface. This is my new go to smart level and I have retired my dumb level. • impressive for the price
This is no Stabil, but its also 1/10th the price.... so i dont expect it to be that level of quality but for this price point, the thing is pretty impressive... get it on a level surface and zero it out, and it holds zero in that position after moving it in different orientations. but if you go from level to plumb, it will not show 90 deg, at least based on the bubble level. but it will get you +/- .3 deg. Forget the digital, the bubble levels are superb, easy to read, 3 lines on each side to center your eye. bottom line, if you learn to work within the digital limitations, such as zero on level when u do level, and plumb when you do plumb, then its very impressive at this price point. Most jobs do not require .1 deg or better precision. highly recommended, great value at this price point.... had to give it 5 stars because its a lot of level for the price. ... show more
