1. I'm glad I got one with wheels. When this is full, it definitely requires two people to lift it. Rolling it around works great. 2. So much room! The pics don't really do it justice. I put two 20 lb bags of ice in the bottom and all my food and beverages on top of that. 3. The two 20 lb bags of ice kept my food and beverages cold from Thursday morning til Sunday afternoon. Might have last longer...I was going home. 4. There were some reviews saying the lid warped in the sun. I don't tend to leave my cooler in the sun, so I didn't test that out. The lid seems to have held up well. I've taken this cooler on 3 weekend adventures so far. And we did use it as a seat at times. 5. It drains a little slow, but that isn't actually a complaint...I don't care how fast or slow it drains. 6. I'd buy this again...but I'm guessing I won't need to. I think I will have this for many years. ... show more

I used this cooler on a camping trip in middle of the hottest part of summer. It was in the shade 100% of the trip since I was pretty deep in the forest. It lasted over the weekend no problem but I kept ice in it when I got home and left it outside to test the "5 day" claim. Surprisingly, there was still a tiny bit of ice in there on day 3 but, by day four, all of the ice was completely gone. So, maybe the 5 day claim is assuming you don't ever open the cooler? I don't know, but it sure didn't last 5 days, nor even 4. Either way, I can't really complain and it worked well for our two day camping trip. The handles and wheels held up really well, even when lugging this thing (fully loaded) down a steep trail path to get to the campsite deep in the forest. I think the smaller handles would probably break after a couple more trips like this, since I did notice some heavy bending at the mounting points. I was actually surprised that the large handle didn't break on the first use going down this rugged trail but, it came close. When fully loaded, the cooler is HEAVY and the tension hits right where the handle mounts. I kept an eye on those points while lugging it up and down the hill that the path lay on and it came really close to popping out, or breaking, but didn't! Hopefully the cooler lasts a few more trips like this but, I got my money's worth I think. Thanks Coleman! ... show more

I used this cooler during an 8 day road trip the Arizona and the desert. I filled it, with ice, the night before I left. I never had to replace the ice during that entire trip. It kept everything cold and although some ice melted, there would still be plenty left. I bought it because I didn’t want to have to worry about filling the cooler with ice all the time and it exceeded my expectations. Totally worth the money!!! ... show more

Easy to haul and lots of space to store. Easy to drain as well. Can't go wrong with it. The top lid is very sturdy and you can comfortably use it as a bench too.

Somebody at Coleman decided to take a pencil to the design on this. This is the third Extreme Series cooler I have bought in the last 20 years. I use them almost daily for work, loading samples in them and puttin it in my car for the day. The first two lasted 9 years each (Yeah, 9 years). The design on this one is such that the wheels are not sturdy, they are already wallowing out at the axle. They went away from the old flip-flop handles and went with a more generic style. These will pinch your hands if you are not careful. The drain plug is on the wheel side which is the side you put in the SUV first. When I am traveling multiple days I have to lug the cooler out of the car to drain it before I can refill it with ice. Speaking of ice, it does not last as long as with the old-style coolers. They probably reduced the type or how much they put in there. Lastly, the interior dimensions are smaller, meaning that things that used to fit side-by-side will not with this new cooler. I'm pitching this one in the trash as soon as I can find a replacement. You sure are saving money by losing a customer. ... show more

It does what it needs to, which is keeping food cold. My only concern is the handles on both sides. They are plastic handles that swivel up when you need them. They look like they're going to break at some point. When they do, you'll have no option for lifting as the sides are relatively smooth. I would have preferred handles that were molding into the sides of the cooler, like my old Igloo brand cooler. ... show more

My brother and I pitched in together to get this cooler as a gift for our mother, who goes camping with me each summer. This summer was the first we were able to use this cooler. It works great when it works, but there is a slight problem where sometimes it just will not close tight. There is nothing obstructing it outside or inside the cooler, it just. sometimes. refuses. to close. In the end, we end up just opening and closing it about 30 times at different speeds, pushing around the edges, sitting on top of it, etc...whatever it takes until it decides to close. ... show more

Good ice box it's a bit to big to take up stairs loaded but it's a good box. Like the wheels the handles feel good not like there going to break.
