Love this cooler! It’s exactly what I expected from this well known brand. I used it at a craft fair for 3 days with 80-90 degree temperatures. The ice I placed in it on day 1 was still there on day 3. I’ve used a lot if coolers but I’ve never had ice last thus long. We were in and out of it on a regular basis. The wheels seem heavy duty enough to take anywhere. We rolled it across sidewalks, asphalt and really muddy ground. It rolled well on all surfaces. It holds a lot too so there was no need to add more drinks after the first day. The telescoping handle sticks some when attempting to push it down for storage but it will collapse with a little effort. Overall it’s a great cooler that can also serve as a drink holder or seat. I looked for 2 weeks trying to find the right cooler. Looked at all the high end super expensive brands. Besides costing $300 - $400, they weigh 35 to 45 lbs - empty! This cooler is perfect for our needs and the ice stayed frozen for more than a couple of days. Nice size and quality and ease of use. We were replacing a 30+ year old Igloo of the same style. I'd say this is very comparable. The fact that it doesn't have a latch isn't important to us - the lid fits snuggly. Intended to transport and store supplies for a family of six on an all day remote river excursion. We packed sandwiches, snacks, can and plastic bottle beverages for a five to six hour float / tubing trip. From a capacity and cooling standpoint this thing is ACES. Plenty of inside space, convenient handle and wheels. I was nervous about the size due to it's extra 5 quart capacity over our last cooler but it perfectly snug into the "cooler tube". Kept our supplies cold all day in Texas summer heat. + Light grey color - does not attract sun/heat as much as my old red one. + Capacity - plenty of room for supplies and ice. + Insulation - kept food cool even in direct sunlight. - Lacks closure feature. >Our old cooler had a plastic loop in the body and the lid for a small carabiner to hold it closed in case the tube tipped over in the rapids. This cooler does not have one. I had made a velcro strap to hold it closed. This cooler works great! We filled it with drinks and one bag of ice, left it outside by the next day only half of the ice had melted and the drinks were still really cold. The size was nice for three 12 packs of pop, two 8 packs of Gatorade, and like 10 water bottles. It doesnt leak, but has a nice valve to release the water once the ice melts.     • Be careful of the plastic hinges and the wheels coming off

this one, really surprised me. I always believed and felt that Coleman was a good company. The last cooler I had I really beat up. I must admit I actually fixed it myself on numerous occasions. It’s not Coleman’s fault. I’m a DJ and I would take it everywhere I go. I keep wires and other things in it so it really took a beating. To make a long story short I needed a new one. This was supposedly the upgrade and it was supposed to be better made, and it was supposed to be bigger. The first thing I noticed that was odd is when I removed all my old items from the old cooler and put it in this one it fit perfectly. Now, if I had ordered the same size, this would be great, but this was 62 quarts while the old one was 50 quarts. Last time I went to school 62 is higher than 50 so I found that very strange. But that’s nothing compared to what I found next. On the old cooler, the lid was built into the cooler itself so when you opened it and closed it, there was no creaking. There was no weird noises. It opened and closed fine. On this new and upgraded one, the hinges are made out of cheap plastic the old one remember didn’t even have hinges. It was just attached to the cooler itself and opened and shut the new one actually had hinges and they were cheap plastic if you push it a little bit too far it’s gonna break no doubt about it. I mean, cheap flimsy plastic. Rather than return it, I got two steel hinges. I took out the cheap plastic flimsy ones threw them away because they’re useless. And I replaced them with the two new steel ones. Now it’s perfect. I’m still a little bit confused about the size being bigger. I don’t think it is even though it looks it. So the big question is what I recommend this cooler? If you’re willing to make the upgrade that I did and you’re willing to accept the fact that it’s actually 50 quarts not 62 just in a rectangular form instead of a square form then yes I think you’ll be fine. If you don’t wanna do that or don’t accept that size difference or rather the size being the same then I wouldn’t recommend it. I needed a cooler right away. That’s why I didn’t return it and after I made those upgrades it’s fantastic. People are gonna ask me that so I just wanted to clarify that I had to work that weekend. I got it. I believe it was on a Friday so I had to do it. I’m very quick and I think outside the box anyway that’s my review and that’s why I gave it three stars thank you. Update: first time I used it the wheels came out. I thought they were internal meaning they were weren’t even on the outside. So now those same hinges that I bought to fix the top so the top piece wouldn’t come off and now I have to put on the bottom so the wheels don’t come out. This is really ridiculous. ... show more
