This premium Italian Extra Virgin olive oil, made by the Colavita family, has rich aroma and a balanced, full-bodied flavor. The slightly spicy and bitter notes in the flavor profile testify to the Italian authenticity and freshness of this product. The timeless look of Colavita signature extra virgin olive oil was inspired by the containers used by generations of the Colavita family in Molise, Italy to transfer fresh oil from the press to a place of prominence in the family kitchen. During the colder months, olive oil will congeal during shipping. This is normal, natural, and will not disturb the quality of the oil. Please allow congealed oil to rest at room temperature for 24 hours. Product of Italy. Cholesterol and carbohydrate free. Store in a cool dry place.

The first time I grabbed a bottle of this a took a swig, it made me cough a bit, which, if you know EVOO, is a good thing. It has a very clean earthy taste, fairly peppery, and a modicum of bitterness. I also love the bottle's that it comes in. They are dark glass, with a pouring spout. Anyone who knows about EVOO knows this is the kind of container it needs to be stored in. I would also like to say I was very impressed by the shipping. It was in a box with a few bubble packs and they sat opposite of each other, neck to bottom in a corrugated cardboard container inside the box. I used to purchase this at Walmart where it was around 18 dollars a bottle. This is about 14 and some change a piece. Excellent deal, exemplary product. ... show more

Came across this while in the Dominican Republic. Looked up in the internet all the olive oil brands at the supermarket, and Colavita had the best reviews. Bought the smallest bottle to give it a try and have never looked back. Even gave up Mazola Corn Oil for awhile, but bought it again for my fried corn fritters. I cook everything else with Colavita. The omega 3 fatty acids must be doing something right because my 92 year old mother has not had another heart attack since changing oils (mild at 85yo). Pricey, but well worth it! ... show more

I buy these big tins to freeze. They freeze very well and keep, apparently, forever. Even if you lose power for a while it doesn't really matter, since they just start aging normally until power is restored. I just took an old one out -- from January 2022. Right now is June, 2026, so 4 and a half years. It took forever to fully thaw -- like 12 hours -- but It tastes just like new. ... show more
