This cooler is excellent quality, and it is huge. Not your everyday cooler but is great for a multi day trip. Although it unfortunately does not have a rubber seal on the lid, it does keep ice for a few days with minimal opening. I'm using this for unconventional purposes as I have horses and don't have power where their water tanks are. This has been keeping their water from freezing solid in negative temperatures this winter. I do add warm water every day and break the ice layer on top, but I leave the hatch open 24/7. I will be ordering more of these as my other tanks are frozen solid despite the insulation I wrapped them in. ... show more

So I put this cooler to the extreme test and here is my opinion on it. We took it down the main salmon river on the front of my boat for six days and still had about half the ice by the time we were finished.the cup holders stay pretty tight but will pop off with a little force. If it’s raining (or in our case getting just drenched in water all day) a little water will seep in from either the twist lock handle or the sides of the lid. I used 1/8” sticky foam to fix this issue and it seemed to hold up pretty well. Also, if you plan on sitting on the cooler, avoid the lid as it’s not strong enough to hold the weight of a full grown man. I did pre chill the cooler 24hrs before we left. It is more than large enough to hold enough food for 3full grown men and the beverages that come with a six day trip. The weather was pretty chilly the first couple days and it was covered by a seat the kept direct sunlight off it for about five hours a day so do with that what you may. Hope this helps and happy adventures! Update: cooler still works great but the quick lid is weak ( cable broke) and allows water to enter the cooler(it does get hammered with rapids, a lot) probably seals great in the rain. It works but I will eventually need to upgrade to an expensive cooler for multi day river trips ... show more

I bought this as a gift, and it was a hit! The zipper was a little hard to close, but it really kept everything cold on a very warm day. You can put your cell phone in a zipper in the outside and it helps keep your phone from getting too hot and it’s a clear pocket so you can actually see when your phone rings. Great size too. The cooler was far below expectations. The handles have very weak seams and pivot points on the handles. The wall thickness is thinner then most of our previous purchased coolers and the access door on top doesn't seal properly, leading me to believe the listed ice retention is a huge exaggeration. I attempted to return the cooler due to its very poor quality and the wanted 30% of the overall price for shipping. ... show more
