  • Works great
I bought this maybe 2-3 years ago, used it to fix my tent poles, it's holding up great. However, I miscalculated and should have bought more, so do your math twice.

  • Worked great
I bought two packages to replace the shock cord in my REI Co-op Half Dome 2+ tent that I purchased about 8 years ago. Had about 10 feet left over when I was done. There is a YouTube video showing how to do it with my exact tent model and it was very easy. Took me about one hour to do.

  • Cheaper way to bring your tent back to life!
I've purchased this item twice now to fix our REI Quarter Dome tents. The product is a great replacement when the shock cord of your tent breaks (which is really the only thing that ever breaks with that tent). It's pretty elastic and thin enough so it's easy to tying and fit inside the pole. There isn't a ton of cord, which I prefer since I don't want to store a large bundle. I've had to purchase this once for each time I've fixed. ... show more

  • Good replacement of broken shock cord.
Replaced broken dried out shock cord in my backpacking tent poles. Worked perfectly.

  • Works well with Big Agnes Fly Creek UL2
I have replaced it with the original Big Agnes shock cord, it works well. One thing I have to mention is that the cord size is slightly thinner than the original one. 18 feet is exactly or more than enough to replace the shock cord as long as you do not make any mistakes. The price is cheap and worth the replacement yourself as long as you label each pole prior to taking out the old shock cord. ... show more

  • Better than the elastic available in sewing stores
My review is actually for an alternative use of this product. The quality of elastic in the waistbands of boxer shorts and sports shorts is appalling these days. Much of it doesn’t last a year. I have 20 year old shorts that still have functioning elastic. What has happened to the quality of elastic in the last ten years? The elastic sold in sewing stores is no better so I looked for an alternative. I knew that elastic shock cord had to have a long life. I happened to have some on my shelf so I tried it in a pair of expensive hand sewn boxer shorts that I loved. The elastic had failed after about nine months and I really wanted to revive them. After that success I found this product on amazon and I’ve now replaced the elastic in quite a few pairs of boxers and sport shorts. This is my third purchase of this item. My waist bands are still snapping back three years after my first retrofit. Maybe not quite as comfortable as flat elastic but my drawers are staying up…and that’s what matters! Pleased as punch. ... show more

  • Keep it with your tent just in case…
Had a cord break on a long shock pole and it was impossible to keep it together to put the tent up! Easily slips thru the poles, pull some slack out, knot the ends and you done!
