Very strong tool, but handle is multipiece & I had to duct tape it to stay together during use.

I wasn't expecting the handle to be in multiple pieces. It was simple to assemble, but then it didn't stay together at all when I attempted to use it. So, I bought some black duct tape (to match the color of the handle) and wrapped it around each juncture point. Now it works just fine. The handle is some kind of thick hard plastic (like the thick black plastic of a straight vacuum hose), the base of tool is metal and strong for your gardening purposes. I believe this tool will work well and last for many years, but I'm just giving it 4 stars due to the handle having to be taped together in order to work without falling apart. There were enough attachments to make this hoe the right height for someone my size (5'2) or a taller person (I left one piece out)...which is probably the point of (and advantage of) having the handle require assembly - that way it is adjustable. So, overall, I believe this is going to be a high quality and long lasting tool, and the duct tape doesn't bother me.

Definitely Worth Purchasing this Garden Tool

This is the best garden tool you can ever hope to purchase. I just finished weeding my backyard (approximately 8,900+ sq ft of backyard) and dug down about 2-3 inches in order to have sod installed. The weight of this tool is perfect for my hands (I'm a 71 year old woman with fairly great upper body strength). I was able to do this with ease even in areas that were compacted. I have a mixture of sandy loam and clay soil. I'm very impressed with the balance when I use it as a hand tool. It's also very effective as a hoe. This tool is made to last. I would definitely purchase this again and highly recommend it.

Solid but brittle

My age and body won't let me chop with a regular hoe anymore but with this hula-hoe, I am still able to garden, (to a certain extent). The outdoors and working in my garden are therapeutic. Also, the metal is very strong, it should last a long time.
