Medium shade gives skin a subtle glow and is great for lighter skin tones. Dark is ideal for medium skin tones for a back-from-vacay bronze. Ultra Dark delivers a deep, rich tan. If you're new to self-tanning, it is recommended to start with Medium. How should I prepare my skin before applying for the best results? Remove unwanted hair and exfoliate thoroughly, ideally 6–24 hours before applying. Apply tan to dry skin with no moisturizers. Apply a small amount of moisturizer to very dry areas like elbows, knees, and ankles to prevent product from over-absorbing Is the mitt applicator included in the kit? Do I need anything else for application? Yes, a soft velvet tanning mitt is included in the kit. For harder-to-reach areas like hands, feet, wrists, and ankles, a kabuki brush (sold separately or in bundle kits) can be helpful for more precise application. How quickly does the mousse dry once applied to the skin? The mousse dries quickly, typically within 10 minutes, making it convenient for individuals with a busy schedule. We recommend wearing dark clothing while the color guide is on and the tan is still developing. What does the tanning mousse smell like? Does it have a typical fake tan odor? This is the best sunless tanner I’ve ever used! Perfect color on my light skin. I put it on every week . It does not get on the sheets and discolored them - I do still wash my sheets the day after the smell is not bad at all but I like my sheets fresh!

I cannot stand self tanners that have that fake tan smell, and while this still has a smell, it’s not as bad as most. The color is a little more orange/sweet potato-ish than I would like but it’s still a nice self tanner for the shade, smell, and price.

I'll preface this by saying that this is the best self tanner I have ever used. No streaks, great color (olive/brown, not yellow/orange). BUT there are two cons: 1. The smell after you wash it off and it starts working. I personally do not like it and it gives me a headache. It's like cookies mixed with old nail polish. 2. The product most definitely expires and no longer works. If you pass the 6 month mark (I use it weekly, in winter only on my face/neck/arms and there's still product in there) it will stop working: it will maybe stain your skin gray-ish and give you no tan, so you'll end up tossing the bottle. An expensive bottle. On that note, it's pricey, and it's a con as well. With the subscribe & save you can save a few bucks, but it's still more expensive compared to similar products. I am a "Lindsay Lohan" type of redhead, light skin and the "ultra dark" works well on me, so don't be scared to dare. Tip: It can sometimes wear off in patches, but if it does, use a horsehair glove in the shower and it'll go away pretty quickly. Another note: I do not use the face drops, I use the body foam on my face as well, by mixing it into some moisturizing cream. It works ok on your face this way and reduces the chance of patches. I would advice against applying it directly on your face without cream as it will get into your pores and leave them darker. ... show more

Good thing I have a sense of humor, or this could’ve absolutely ruined my vacation. I typically use a very well known brand, but kept seeing ads that looked nice for this one and decided to give it a try. At first I was pleased with how deep and rich olive the color/foam appeared. I am always meticulous about my pre application process and did all the steps: shower, shave, exfoliate and finally moisturizer to those dry areas. I wore the product overnight as I typically will. I knew the very next morning that this tanner was a mistake. My hands and feet were absolutely atrocious, the color was unmistakably orange despite the promising green foam. I showered two to three times a day while on vacation to try to dull those areas but the product started to just come off splotchy. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t trying to desperately hide my feet at the pool and refused to wear my new heels to dinner while on vacation. I got a good laugh at times as well as my family at my expense. I absolutely will never come close to using this product again, and I suggest you do the same. ... show more

Omg I have been wanting to try this one for many years but the price was a bit steep.I thought the bottle was much smaller too that's why I didn't because I don't mind paying,but if the bottle was as small as I thought then no This bottle is a nice size it shipped out immediately and let me tell you I am so impressed. It was well worth the wait and I also bought it for half the price so that was a given..I just applied about 30 minutes ago and it's a beautiful golden brown color and I know I'll get much darker. This does dry a bit fast but I love it and so far no self tanner smell I have never had that before. Have tried at least 50 different self tanner throughout the years and this one hands down delivers .I'm so happy someone made a faint smelling self tanner that has a beautiful color I'm so impressed I highly recommend this and I will pay full.price because I never want to be out of this one ever. My daughters will be so happy getting all my ones that I now won't be using and I have a ton. I don't have to use 3 different kinds anymore either because this works great on hands and feet just don't use too much and I use a brush to do my feet and hands. This smells pretty nice! However, it left my skin very greenish. If you try to wash it off of your hans, etc. the water runs green. It’s kinda weird. I know that they sue green to offset the orange color but it’s just oddly green on my skin. Amazon customer service was incredible. Well done to Amazon! ... show more
