I cannot stand self tanners that have that fake tan smell, and while this still has a smell, it’s not as bad as most. The color is a little more orange/sweet potato-ish than I would like but it’s still a nice self tanner for the shade, smell, and price.

Good thing I have a sense of humor, or this could’ve absolutely ruined my vacation. I typically use a very well known brand, but kept seeing ads that looked nice for this one and decided to give it a try. At first I was pleased with how deep and rich olive the color/foam appeared. I am always meticulous about my pre application process and did all the steps: shower, shave, exfoliate and finally moisturizer to those dry areas. I wore the product overnight as I typically will. I knew the very next morning that this tanner was a mistake. My hands and feet were absolutely atrocious, the color was unmistakably orange despite the promising green foam. I showered two to three times a day while on vacation to try to dull those areas but the product started to just come off splotchy. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t trying to desperately hide my feet at the pool and refused to wear my new heels to dinner while on vacation. I got a good laugh at times as well as my family at my expense. I absolutely will never come close to using this product again, and I suggest you do the same.

I'll preface this by saying that this is the best self tanner I have ever used. No streaks, great color (olive/brown, not yellow/orange). BUT there are two cons: 1. The smell after you wash it off and it starts working. I personally do not like it and it gives me a headache. It's like cookies mixed with old nail polish. 2. The product most definitely expires and no longer works. If you pass the 6 month mark (I use it weekly, in winter only on my face/neck/arms and there's still product in there) it will stop working: it will maybe stain your skin gray-ish and give you no tan, so you'll end up tossing the bottle. An expensive bottle. On that note, it's pricey, and it's a con as well. With the subscribe & save you can save a few bucks, but it's still more expensive compared to similar products. I am a "Lindsay Lohan" type of redhead, light skin and the "ultra dark" works well on me, so don't be scared to dare. Tip: It can sometimes wear off in patches, but if it does, use a horsehair glove in the shower and it'll go away pretty quickly. Another note: I do not use the face drops, I use the body foam on my face as well, by mixing it into some moisturizing cream. It works ok on your face this way and reduces the chance of patches. I would advice against applying it directly on your face without cream as it will get into your pores and leave them darker.

I hardly ever write reviews. Only when I am extremely happy or extremely disappointed. This was my first time trying this self tanner and I LOVE it!!! I’ve used self tanner‘s for a couple of decades, I’ve tried them all! I normally use St. Tropez or Loving Tan, their prices are getting a little too high so I decided to try this one based on most of the customer reviews. The tan is natural looking with olive undertones. It doesn’t smell like corn chips while it’s developing or after it’s been rinsed off-a lot of self tanners still smell on me for an entire day after I’ve showered. Also, it is not tacky at all. If you over apply, it may be a little sticky, but that goes away pretty fast. The tan develops in two hours so you can apply early at night, shower before bedtime and your sheets won’t turn orange. Be sure to exfoliate, put a non-greasy moisturizer on any rough patches, definitely on your elbows, knees, hands, and feet. If you haven’t tried this brand, you need to!!
