Medium shade gives skin a subtle glow and is great for lighter skin tones. Dark is ideal for medium skin tones for a back-from-vacay bronze. Ultra Dark delivers a deep, rich tan. If you're new to self-tanning, it is recommended to start with Medium. How should I prepare my skin before applying for the best results? Remove unwanted hair and exfoliate thoroughly, ideally 6–24 hours before applying. Apply tan to dry skin with no moisturizers. Apply a small amount of moisturizer to very dry areas like elbows, knees, and ankles to prevent product from over-absorbing Is the mitt applicator included in the kit? Do I need anything else for application? Yes, a soft velvet tanning mitt is included in the kit. For harder-to-reach areas like hands, feet, wrists, and ankles, a kabuki brush (sold separately or in bundle kits) can be helpful for more precise application. How quickly does the mousse dry once applied to the skin? The mousse dries quickly, typically within 10 minutes, making it convenient for individuals with a busy schedule. We recommend wearing dark clothing while the color guide is on and the tan is still developing. What does the tanning mousse smell like? Does it have a typical fake tan odor? The tanner has a fruity scent that is quite different from typical self-tanners. It has a tropical mango and guava scent during application. This does dry a bit fast but I love it and so far no self tanner smell I have never had that before. This is the best self-tanner I have ever used! It gets dark and looks really natural. The most important thing to me is that if fades gradually and doesn't make me look like I have freckles all over as others I have used.

Absolute best self tanner. I’ve tried them all. Used to be a st. Tropez fan. The color on this is good. I’m very pale, but this gets me TAN. It is very potent tho, be careful when applying it will stain your hands quickly. Must use a self tanning mitt that doesn’t leak.

I am a long time self tanner and I’ve tried most of them, my favorite one just hasn’t been performing the way it used to and it’s also $10 more, so I wanted to switch it up. My 1st impression wasn’t super great, I can’t decide if I like the smell or not, one of the notes is really good but it’s also really sweet and strong which can be a lot. It’s not a deal breaker at all though. I also wish the guide color wasn’t so green toned so I could leave the house with it on before washing it off, but also not a deal breaker. I also found that it doesn’t dry down quite as well as my favorite but it does dry down better than others I’ve tried. What has sold me on this one the most though, is that my color is on day 4 or 5 and still looks nice. I did my legs 1st as a test run then my upper body a day or 2 later and the color is great. The formula isn’t streaky or patchy, I do prefer a tanning glove with no thumb, so I think that helps. I will probably continue to buy this over my previous favorite because of how the color lasts and fades out nicely, and the price is better. ... show more

Good thing I have a sense of humor, or this could’ve absolutely ruined my vacation. I typically use a very well known brand, but kept seeing ads that looked nice for this one and decided to give it a try. At first I was pleased with how deep and rich olive the color/foam appeared. I am always meticulous about my pre application process and did all the steps: shower, shave, exfoliate and finally moisturizer to those dry areas. I wore the product overnight as I typically will. I knew the very next morning that this tanner was a mistake. My hands and feet were absolutely atrocious, the color was unmistakably orange despite the promising green foam. I showered two to three times a day while on vacation to try to dull those areas but the product started to just come off splotchy. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t trying to desperately hide my feet at the pool and refused to wear my new heels to dinner while on vacation. I got a good laugh at times as well as my family at my expense. I absolutely will never come close to using this product again, and I suggest you do the same. ... show more

I was a loyal subscriber to Coco & Eve Sunny Honey Tanning Lotion, and for good reason—it delivered a fantastic tan! Unfortunately, my journey with this product came to an end due to a significant drawback: the inclusion of a variation of red dye in the formula. I genuinely loved the results of this tanning lotion, and it consistently provided a beautiful, natural-looking tan. The application was smooth, and the scent was pleasant. However, upon discovering the red dye content, I had to make the difficult decision to stop using it. The presence of red dye in a product I applied to my skin regularly was a dealbreaker for me, as I've been actively working to reduce exposure to such ingredients. It's disappointing to part ways with a tanning lotion I enjoyed so much due to this particular component. For those not sensitive to red dye or those who don't mind its inclusion in their skincare products, Sunny Honey is likely a fantastic option. The results are undeniable. However, for individuals like me who are actively avoiding certain ingredients, this may not be the ideal choice. In summary, I would have given this product a higher rating if it weren't for the red dye content. It's effective, but I ultimately had to seek out alternatives that align with my ingredient preferences.
