We have not entered production with this yet, so I cannot give a longevity report. but initial review looks good. Speed control is solid, and the motor is very smooth and quiet. Altogether works as promised, with one caveat: (and it is an important one!) The power cord that was supplied with the unit was mislabeled. We hooked L to L, N to N and ground to ground. Plugged it in and sparks flew. Double checked (which we should have done first) and the wire marked Ground was actually the hot wire, the ground was marked L and the neutral was marked N. At least they got that one right. Had we gone with standard color codes, we would have been fine - black was hot (marked ground), white is neutral and green is ground.

I upgraded my Genmitsu 4030 ProVer with this spindle about a month ago. So far its working very well. The spindle bearings are excellent and it is very quiet below about 15000 rpm. I'm not sure it is really a 1.5kw output but its much better than the 500watt model it replaced. I base the power assumption off of a real 2.2kW 240V spindle I have on a bigger machine. I would highly recommend it though for smaller or hobby CNCs. I have experience with setting up VFDs and found the setup easy and the manual readable.

I was very excited to finally get a spindle for my CNC machine instead of using a router. I got the spindle and immediately installed it onto my machine. For my first cut, I used extremely conservative Feeds & Speed just to test it out. 60 IPM 0.125 DOC on Plywood. It barely cleared 1/8 inch of the plywood, the spindle stopped mid cut. At first I thought it was user error, so I double checked my settings and tried cutting again. Same thing happened again. I've already filed for a return. Don't bother with this spindle.

Spindle stalls at any sign of stress. Can't flatten panels because of no torque. Manufacturer states it's not made for surfacing and that you should use only for engraving which is useless for me. Will be returning

I use this on a homemade CNC and it definitely performs as good as I could hope for. It's powerful and fairly silent, especially around in the 10-15k rpm range. Right now I'm just operating it manually from the VFD but eventually I will hook it up to a BoB. The VFD is smaller than I was expecting but it performs well. The wires they include are also nice to have. Pretty much ready to run, and pretty cheap for the performance. I included a diagram of the measurements for the 2.2kW ER20 unit. I can't verify that these measurements are correct for the other spindles.
