Used this on my 7x14 grizzly lathe with some 3d printed magnetic mounts. I cut it down so I can move my carriage fully in both directions and it works perfectly. Perfect replacement for the crappy rubber covers that come on mini mills. Just cut to size. Lays flat and stays out of the way. Much better material then what ever china rubber they use!

100% the best upgrade for a mini lathe. Sure it eats bed space but the time it saves clearing the feed way is priceless. No more scaring on my lathe bed. I did make this removable for cleaning, and to use max work area.

I am going to use this for a 14 x 40 metal lathe. A little protection from abrasive dust. I will use small magnets to attach them. They look like grade B quality. Fair price. How long they will last? Looks like a year or two. Without oil or chemicals, probably a lot longer.

    • Expands when it should contract

When narrowing the space between your chuck and work piece (lathe or mill) the dust cover will not contract but just bunch up and get tangled in your chuck. It is entirely too stiff to be useful, not flexible as the description says.
