I was a bit skeptical about whether these would really work. I bought a car that was owned by a smoker. He said he didn't actually smoke in the car, but there was a slight cigarette odor anyway. I cleaned out the car really well after I got it, put these in the sun to activate, then put them in the car. I would say after a couple of days, I could barely smell the cigarette odor and in less than a week, I couldn't smell it anymore at all. And I even had someone tell me that it smelled "like a freshly cleaned hotel room", so it must have worked! Since I just keep these in my car 24/7, if it's time to reactivate them, I just throw them up on my dash and let them soak up the sun. I highly recommend!

The media could not be loaded. I had my fireplace cleaned and was finally able to have my first-ever fire in this house. I was shocked at how the house reeked of smoke the next day! I quickly went to Amazon to find a solution, and these had very high ratings. They come in a pack of 4, and you just put them where you need them and joila! The smell dissipates. I put another one near my cat's litter box. It help, but doesn't completely eliminate the odor. These have no smell of their own, so they don't mask the smell but they somehow absorb it. I haven't had a chance to reactivate them in the sun yet, and I think that may be why it's not working so well in the litter area.

I have all of them in my car and honestly I don't feel a difference at all. When the car smelled like smoke, they had no effect. When I put an ozone machine and aired it out, they just smelled faintly like the ozone they absorbed when I put them back in. When I sprayed an air freshner, they started smelling like it. They didn't really eliminate anything though, and I even tried "refreshing them" in the sunlight as advised

These work amazingly well. I used for a couple of wooden dressers at the beach house that tend to absorb moisture and have a mildew smell. After putting them in, clothes that were taken out of drawers did not have that usual musty smell. Would highly recommend!!

I used to buy these odor-neutralizers at Bed, Bath and Beyond when they were still around. I think I paid about ten bucks for one. These are nice and big and appear to be very well made, so at just over $10 for four of them - well, that is a great deal. They are supposed to last 2 years and based upon my past experience with the BB&B product, that should not be a problem.

my work office developed this damp, musty smell most likely from the old carpet. We tried baking soda, carpet fresheners, etc but all it did was mask the odor for a day or two. I decided to give charcoal bags a try. I “charged” them under sunlight for about 2 hours and then placed 2 bags in my office. It’s been 3 days and the room smells like…. NOTHING!! The awful odor is gone! I am a believer, so I purchased a couple more to place in my car, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. And then hopefully we can get rid of the chemical air sprays
