Right out of the box this guitar is ready to play. The action height was set perfect already, the strings that it comes with are silky smooth and easy on the fingers, which is good for a beginner. The guitar itself is beautifully made. The neck is straight and has binding all the way around that basically eliminates all rough frets and makes the guitar very comfortable and easy to enjoy. The tuners seem to be good quality, making it easy to tune the guitar and make precise adjustments. Overall, a guitar of this construction and quality I would honestly expect to play double or triple this price. Hola guitars seems to sincerely care about quality and being able to connect (aspiring) musicians with amazing instruments to help talents blossom. Consider me a customer for life. The full-sized HG-39GLS didn't disappoint. Out of the box, all I needed to do was shave the saddle 1mm and tighten the truss rod 1/4 turn for an easily playable guitar. The neck was straight and had no sharp frets extending, probably due to the neck binding on many non-matte finished guitars. The sound projected better than my other classical guitars due to the larger lower bout - this one is 16 inches rather than 15. The only finish flaw was two epoxy smudges the size of fingerprints near the sound hole. However, at $73, I don't expect perfection. Additionally, the case was better than most: able to stand against a wall without collapsing on itself. Very pleased with the purchase.

The media could not be loaded. I own some very nice Takemine and Cordoba classical guitars and I was amazed that this guitar compares very favorably to those instruments at a much lower price point. I bought it to leave at my Dad's house to play when I visit so that I don't have to try to lug an expensive classical guitar on an airplane. I was blown away by the quality of the instrument. There are no noticable flaws in the finish or the frets. It plays in tune and was setup nicely out of the box. I broke a string fairly quickly while sitting but this is to be expected from any Classical Guitar that has been sitting in a warehouse. Amazingly, the instrument even came with a nice padded gig bag. Please forgive the bad playing in my video. I was using fingerpicks and should have just played with my fingers. Trust me. The guitar is better than I make it sound in the video and since it is still in Maine and I'm In Florida, I cannot redo it. The bottom line is that if you need a very nice classical guitar for a low price, this guitar does not disappoint. Buy it. You won't regret it.

This fine very nicely made guitar came out of the box in good adjustment and ready to play. I had to retune a couple of times, but I've had it 2 days and it is holding tune. This is a very nice guitar and worth at least twice what I paid for it. The action is very low and does not buzz at all. It's very easy to play. For me, it's a keeper!

Guitar came reasonably set up - and for a nylon string guitar you generally don't want super fast action in any case! intonation was great, and the general set up of frets, fret smoothness/edges, and (lack of) neck bow was far better than I expected (I've seen worse in newly-shipped guitars at ten times the cost) The tone is *decent*, and is absolutely fabulous for the price (it's not as rounded as the best classical guitars, but duh - it's $130 WITH a gig bag! It's easily a $20 gig bag, so $110 for the guitar!) This is not a *beginner* guitar, it's a *workmanlike* guitar. It is sufficiently good for me to rely on for my continuing (re)education in classical guitar (after playing jazz, folk, blues, and rock for almost 50 years) and I get absolutely no sense that I'll want to replace it in a few months or years... All in all - it is astonishing. In comparison - I used to have a cheap "thrash guitar" I picked up for playing while I was long term on a project far from home -- I'd travel with clothes, but I wasn't trusting a decent instrument to airline baggage handling! That cheap thrash guitar cost about the same as this -- or a little more when considering inflation - and that guitar was really trash. good enough to give me a surface on which to maintain some chops... but I simply left it behind at the end of that project. It wasn't worth keeping... THIS guitar I would keep.
